This step-by-step guide outlines how to change institutions or courses on the JAMB portal: Log into your JAMB profile, navigate to the UTME Data Correction section, make payment via REMITA or bank, modify preferences (with the help of a CBT center), submit, download/print the confirmation page. If paying at the bank, take the RRR number to any commercial bank, then activate the payment in your JAMB profile and complete the changes.

If you’re sure you want to proceed with the online registration, read on.
Let me take you by the hands and show you how to handle this all by yourself.
In other words, you don’t necessarily need to visit a cyber café or CBT center before starting your change of institution, even though you may need a CBT or JAMB office for the final submission. You can start it all on your personal computer or mobile phone.

Step By Step Guide to Change Institutions/Courses
- Visit the JAMB portal and log into your JAMB profile. Remember, if you're a candidate for JAMB 2021/2022 or after, you will need to open an email and link that with your JAMB profile first. It's after that you'll be able to log in to your JAMB profile.
- To log in, you will need your JAMB profile email and the password sent to you while linking the email to the JAMB profile. Meanwhile, your profile password may be different from your email password. I detailed the difference and how to retrieve it (if forgotten) here.
- At the right side of your dashboard or the left side of the screen, locate “Registration (2021 Only)” and click on it to expand for sub-options.
- Click “2021 UTME Data Correction”. Direct entry applicants should click “2021 DE Data Correction” instead. This will take you to the page to select a payment option.
- Proceed with payment using REMITA for example. Follow the guide and fill out the payment form on the next page. Here, you will need MasterCard details to pay a sum of N2,677.19 (including the Remita charge).
- After a successful payment, you will be redirected to the UTME Data Correction page.
- In order to change institution or course, click inside the radio box next to “Choice of Institution/Course Correction”
- This will open your schools of choice during the UTME registration. If this doesn't open to you as an individual, it will instruct you, at this level, to visit the nearest accredited CBT center to complete the fingerprints and final submission. The CBT center may charge N700 for its service.
- Now, change your schools as you want to be now and submit.
- After the submission, a page containing the old schools of choice and the new ones will open. Download the page in PDF and print.
While wishing you luck, you should now realize how easy it’s for you to effect the change by yourself.

Payment for Change of Institutions/Courses at Bank
It’s equally possible to make payment for this exercise using a bank. To do that, follow the following steps.- At step 5 above, you will see the RRR number on your screen like this 2003-0077-1236.
- Copy this or print a copy of the invoice sent to your email (you’ll find that if you log into your email at that stage).
- Take it to any commercial bank in Nigeria. They will pay in the amount due for you
- Return to your JAMB profile and log in.
- This time, locate “My Payment” by the side of your dashboard. Click that to open it.
- If required, requery the payment or check the status to activate the bank payment.
- Once successful, you will be redirected to the UTME Data Correction page
- Then, complete your changes and submit them. However, for 2020/2021, JAMB has limited changes to only CBT centers and JAMB offices. Hence, you have to visit the nearest CBT centers for the final changes or book appointments with JAMB.

Yes, you're right. JAMB has suspended the change of institutions until further notice. This is due to the lock-down and the ongoing arrangements to resume work at their various branches. When all is set, they will reopen the portal.

ReplyDeleteAs the date of this response, you have to use CBT centre. JAMB may allow cafe and individual to do that later.

Good afternoon...Pls i did Jamb in 2017 and am trying to print my admission letter but it is not going through, saying " your course on admission is not the same thing as your first choice, kindly change course/institution before you can print"...Is the service available???

ReplyDeleteIt depends on your proposed school. There is no way to state a specific date for each school in Nigeria. Just keep following updates about your on school admission lists and be taking regular look at your CAPS status.

Hello I want to go to a private uni using my Jupeb result and I want to change my course but I mistakenly just changed my institution now I have exhausted my chances on changing course ..how do I go about it
ReplyDeleteIf you can contact the university and they agree to offer you the admission, they will ask you to do JAMB regularization to resolve that issue. But they must offer you the admission first.

ReplyDeleteYes, you can. But be sure that you're no more interested in the early first-choice school. Also, be sure that the school you want to change to, will offer you admission - this you can conclude if you meet their admission requirements.

Hello sir. I did a change of state of origin and it reflected on my jamb result and profile immediately. After accessing my jamb caps after a while I noticed that it still shows the wrong state of origin on my jamb caps profile. I checked payments made to be sure and it's showing paid but not used. Is there anything that can be done about it?
