Can I Check JAMB Result With Registration Number?

Very well, when you wanted to check WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, what you needed was your registration number, exam number, or the so-called "index number". However, when you want to check the JAMB result, they said you must send an SMS. Some were told to log in to their JAMB portal to see their results.

But what if you couldn't use your JAMB SIM again - lost or damaged? What if you've not linked your email to the JAMB portal? What if you've lost access to the JAMB portal? Won't you have other means to check your JAMB result?

Well, that's where the thought to use the JAMB registration number or the exam number comes in. You want to consider the option to use your JAMB UTME registration number to check your JAMB result. How will you do that? Is it possible at all?

You Can Use Your JAMB Registration Number to Check the Result

Of course, you will need your JAMB registration number to see your result. That's one of the recognized pieces of information, apart from the JAMB profile code or SIM, that you'll need to use in checking JAMB results.

However, it may not be possible to use the registration number in the very way you're thinking. For example, if compared with the way WAEC or NECO results are checked, JAMB doesn't have an open platform (anymore) where you will just enter the registration or exam number and input your token/PIN, then click check to see your result.

Instead, even if to use the JAMB registration number for the result checking, you still have to do that in closed-door. By closed-door, I mean after logging in to your JAMB portal, you'll have to navigate to the section where you'll enter your JAMB registration (if not there by default), pay for that checking, and download to print.

Checking JAMB Result With Registration Still Requires Login

As you might have seen in the summary above, if you can't use SMS to check your result, you can use the registration number. However, there is still the need to log in to your personal JAMB portal before you can do that.

To use this method, 

1. First, link your email to the JAMB portal if you don't do that during the JAMB registration
2. After that, copy your JAMB password from your email or get it through SMS.
3. Use both the email and password to log in to the JAMB e-facility
4. After logging in, click on "Print Result Slip"
5. Make the payment. Then, enter your JAMB registration number to download the result. Now, you can print.

If you can't still link your email or something is wrong that you've no access to your JAMB portal, you can simply take your JAMB registration number to any accredited CBT center. They can use your JAMB registration ONLY to print the same result for you without necessarily logging into your JAMB portal.

Conclusion

No JAMB result will be printed without the JAMB registration number except if you use the SMS. To have a printed copy of the result, you'll, of course, need the registration number.
