Will EKSU Write Post UTME or Use Screening?

EKSU logo
Before choosing Ekiti State University (EKSU) in JAMB UTME/DE or during the registration for a change of institutions/courses, candidates may want to know what is waiting for them in the end.

They want to know if EKSU will conduct post-UTME for its aspirants or if candidates should just prepare for online or physical screening.

Of course, there are three methods of screening a university may adopt. Namely;

  1. Post UTME (usually a computer-based test (CBT) or rarely Paper-and-Pencil (PPT))
  2. Physical Screening (involving visiting the campus and presenting academic and personal credentials)
  3. Online screening (which is a mere online application and nothing more)

The question at hand is, "Which of these methods is being adopted by Ekiti State University (EKSU)"?

This post will answer your question and give you better clue into the admission procedures of the state-owned university.

EKSU Doesn't Write Post UTME

Post-UTME, it means testing candidates based on certain subjects. Be it CBT or PPT, the university doesn't use any form of exam to screen its candidates before offering them admission. In other words, if you're an EKSU aspirant, be rest assured that apart from the UTME that you'd scaled through, no other exam is waiting for you before being offered a space here.

Also, the university doesn't require aspirants to come on campus for any form of screening or physical checking of their documents or credentials.

Method of Admission Being Used by EKSU

Having affirmed that the university won't conduct post UTME or test or physical screening, the university only uses an ONLINE SCREENING METHOD.

Below is what you must be on the lookout for if you're chasing a course at EKSU.

  1. After scoring the required cut-off for the university or your proposed course, you're to obtain the university screening form. The sale of the screening form will be announced on the university's official admission portal.
  2. Candidates are required to make payments for the online screenings
  3. After this, you've to fill out the admission form which will only require you filling your bio-data (personal information), O'level results/grades, JAMB results, passport photo, Next of Kin, and parents' details.
  4. After the submission of the form online, you're to print the application form which will detail the breakdown and aggregate score for the screening
  5. The screening result/aggregate will be calculated, by the portal, based on the O'level results and JAMB score submitted.
  6. If a candidate meets the requirements for the proposed course or otherwise, such status will be indicated on the result as "Met" or "Not Met". If Met, look out for admission notice, Not Met, no need to wait. Consider changing to another course or totally to another school that may accept your result.
  7. It's based on these results that the university will offer you admission after matching the score up with the departmental cut-off mark (to be decided by the management). Note that such aggregate cut-off marks, for each department (course), may not be made public though.

After this, candidates are required to be following their admission status right on their JAMB CAPS. If offered admission, they should accept or reject. If accepted, print the JAMB admission letters.

As for the school admission lists, candidates should be on the lookout for the university to also upload the same JAMB list on its portal for them to print the admission letter, pay the acceptance and proceed to school afterward for freshers' documentation.
