I must do this because many candidates have called to ask if all hope was lost for them this year. They wanted me to put more light on this.
So, you’re on the right page if you’re here to find meanings to:

Let’s get into it.
Nothing can be as scary as when a candidate checks his or her CAPS and see “NOT ADMITTED”. But this doesn’t mean all hope is lost. So what happens if you see this message?
1. The School admission list has not been sent to JAMB
It may imply that your school hasn’t started uploading the admission list to JAMB CAPS. Normally, your school will collate the names of applicants they want to consider for admission and send that to JAMB for processing. If your school has not done that, your status will remain “NOT ADMITTED” for the time being.In this case, you will have to wait for your school to take action first. The only way to know when the school admission process begins is to be revisiting your JAMB CAPS. As soon as your status message changes to something like “Admission is in progress”, you must be on the lookout for good news sooner.

2. You’re not on the first batch admission list
Yes, I know. Some schools have started admission and in fact, some candidates are already given admissions. That’s cool and it doesn’t mean you should run.Don’t forget that there will be more list(s). The first list is usually the merit list or those who have met up with JAMB requirements (I will talk about this shortly). It could just mean that your school is compiling another list for JAMB to upload.
With the hope for the second list, keep checking your CAPS for any positive change for the time being.

3. You’ve not uploaded your awaiting O’level results.
This was one of the reasons your JAMB CAPS can still be showing “NOT ADMITTED”. If during UTME registration, you used awaiting results (i.e you didn't fill, scan and upload your WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS results), your admission status will remain “NOT ADMITTED” until you go back to the CBT center and upload the result.Note that, there is no need to re-upload the results if you’ve done that before. Awaiting results candidates will not be offered admission unless they return to the CBT center and re-upload their results. It's one of the JAMB directives and conditions to offer admission through CAPS.

4. You’re Unlucky to be admitted for the year
This is the bitter truth. Not every admission seeker will be admitted for the year. I pray you’re not one of the unlucky ones.Your admission status on CAPS may remain “NOT ADMITTED” after your school has uploaded all their lists (i.e 1st, 2nd, 3rd or supplementary). If this is the case, it means you’re not successful this time.
Be sure that your school has announced the closure of admission for this year before you give in to this. This was the date announced by JAMB for admission closure this year. And note that, there can always be an extension.
If in the end, you’re not admitted you can consider any other schools whose admission forms are still on sale. Most institutions will sell supplementary admission forms or 2nd round forms. You can take advantage of them.

"No Admission Given Yet" and "Admission in Progress"
If you get this message in CAPS, then you have more hope than “NOT ADMITTED”As soon as your status shows “admission in progress” with or without “check back later”, it means your school has forwarded a new list to JAMB and they’re also working on uploading it.
All you need is to keep revisiting and monitor the progress from here.
"Sorry, no admission is given yet" is not sad news too. It only means you may eventually be given admission or otherwise.

It will take a few days, weeks or months. It depends on how fast your school and JAMB are on completing the processes. Be patient.

ReplyDeleteIf the school that offered you admission was the same school on your JAMB portal, you have to wait for JAMB to offer you the same. You can lodge complaint with your school about it. But if it's not the same school, you may need to do change of admission with JAMB.

ReplyDeleteFirst be sure that the school offer you the same course as chosen in JAMB. If not, you have to do change of course to match things up. Two, be sure that the admission given to was a full time admission because part-time (DPP or DPT) can't reflect on JAMB for that year. If all are right, kindly visit your school admission office for hlep.

ReplyDeleteIn other words, it's your school that gave you admission not JAMB. First, talk to your admission officer about this. He should know how to go right about this. However, you don't have anything to worry about in the meantime.

ReplyDeleteIt will reflect in time. Just be sure your school is the one reflecting as the first choice on the CAPS. Be sure you upload your O'level results to the JAMB portal, if you have not done that before.

Yes, you can register for this year too.
DeleteOf courses, you're going to use the last year profile if you use the same phone line to get the code. Nothing is wrong with that.
If you intend to change you profile/code, use another number to get this year profile code.

ReplyDeleteIt should affect you. You should try to change the name on your post UTME portal to the one on your JAMB portal. Or change the one on the JAMB portal to the one on your post UTME. Things should tally across the board.

ReplyDeleteIf you see admission in progress, that does not mean you've been offered admission. If AIP changed to not admitted, it might mean the school is not offering admission again. You should consider changing to another school and try your luck.

ReplyDeleteYou have three times to change course or institutions on the JAMB portal. However, it is the best if the course on the school portal is the same as the one on the JAMB portal. The course on the two platform should be the same.

Have been given admission in my choice of school without my course and jamb has not given me admission yet
The best advice is for you to change the course on the JAMB portal to the course given to your by the school. Then, continue with your school while you await admission from JAMB too to the new course.

DeleteI was offered admission by ebsu earlier December 2021 and I followed up immediately and paid my acceptance fee. Also, I printed the admission notification letter from ebsu portal. Subsequently, the admission was withdrawn from the school portal but my jamb CAPS was saying 'admission in progress' even the period school withdrew the admission. Unknowingly, my CAPS changed to not admitted. My question is will be opportuned to gain admission again , and secondly, if I later lost my admission this year (2021/2022) academic session will ebsu refund me my money ??? Please I need urgent and serious attention!!! Thanks sir
ReplyDeleteSorry about the situation. My advise is that you should go the un9versity and lodge your complaint. They will look into what truly happened and provide the right solution. Just calm and take the formal steps of meeting with the university admission officials.

ReplyDeleteMy best advice is that you should visit the school if you can. The admission office will be working even though ASUU is on strike. They should let you know if there will be more lists or otherwise. There is no way you can know from the outside. Only the management decides if there will be more lists or not.

ReplyDeleteMy best advice is to find out from the university's admission office to ask about the specific cut-off mark for Medicine. With my knowledge, all you need is 200 and above to partake in the post UTME. Then your performance in the post UTME will eventually determine your admission.
DeleteAs for the age, you're out of luck if you're 15. You should visit the school and bargain on if they can defer your admission till next year if you're eventually lucky to be admitted.
my o/level result uploaded on my jamb portal is not up to 9,only 7 are reflecting. will this affect my admission on jamb portal.
