A guy has been trying to check his JAMB result. He got to know that he could use SMS to check. But his line was lost.
He wanted to use the checking on the internet method. He was told to link his email with the JAMB portal before being able to check. He learned further that, with this method, a password would be sent to the email which would be used to log into the JAMB portal together with the email before being able to check.
He finally wants to consider the option of using email alone to check. While he was talking to me, he said he couldn't get his SIM and had not linked (was unable to) his email to the JAMB portal. What if I can just use email ONLY to check the result? he asked.

For Several Years, JAMB Allowed Checking With ONLY Email
When the guy was adamant that he wanted to use email only to check his UTME result, I knew where the confusion was coming from.
He must have learned from a sister or brother that it was possible to check the JAMB result only with an email address. That was true some years ago. Needless to say, not any longer.

Some of your brothers or sisters might have told you this because they used their emails only back then. Unfortunately, JAMB has stopped the method of checking the notification of results since 2021.

Back then, you could use only your registration number, phone number, or email to check and print your JAMB result. That won't work again! Sorry!

This Time, You'll Still Need Email But Must Be Linked
If you want to print your original JAMB result, you'll still need an email. This email must have been registered with your JAMB form back then. If you didn't do that during the general registration period, you're permitted to return to the CBT center or any other one to link your email to the JAMB portal.
Once done, JAMB will send you a unique password to the email. It's this password together with your email (linked) that will be needed to log into your JAMB portal before you can pay for, download, and print your JAMB result.
CBT Centre Can Print For You Without Linking or Email
If for whatever reason you don't want to link yet before seeing your result and the SMS will not work, you can just walk up to any CBT center around you to print your JAMB result.
Of course, they can print for you without necessarily linking your email to the JAMB portal. They may only need your JAMB registration number or JAMB profile code to be able to access the result from the backend and print it for you.
Conclusion
JAMB result has three unique ways to check it - SMS, email (linked) with a given password, or using the service of a CBT center. The old method of using email or phone numbers only is not working again.
