How To Change "Desktop Views" on Chrome, Other Browsers

Your reason to force your Google Chrome display in desktop view may not be for the JAMB portal palaver. This guide will work for you too.


But I dedicate this to all JAMB candidates who are having issues seeing more than "Welcome" on the JAMB portal when attempting to access CAPS.


Beyond that, there are other activities that will require entering the JAMB portal and you will need the desktop display other than a default mobile view to get them done.


Hence, if you're in this mess like many candidates, here are two methods to adapt your Chrome mobile view to show in the desktop view.

1. Changing to Desktop View on Chrome

To make Google Chrome display in desktop view on a mobile device, follow these steps:


  1. Open Google Chrome on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and select "Desktop site" from the drop-down menu.
  4. The web page should now reload and display in desktop view.

2. Changing to Desktop View on UC Browser

Here are the steps to display a website in desktop view on UC Browser:


  1. Open the UC Browser app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Select "Settings" from the menu.
  4. Scroll down and select "Website Preferences".
  5. Tap on "Desktop mode" and turn it on.
  6. The webpage will reload in desktop view.

3. Changing to Desktop View on Mi Browser

Here are the steps to display a website in desktop view on Mi Browser:


  1. Open the Mi Browser app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap on the three dots icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Select "Desktop site" from the menu.
  4. The webpage will reload in desktop view.

4. Changing to Desktop View on Firefox

  1. Open the Samsung Internet Browser on your device.
  2. Tap on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen to open the menu.
  3. Select "Settings" from the menu.
  4. Scroll down and select "Desktop site" under the "Advanced" section.
  5. The browser will now reload the website in desktop view.

8. Changing to Desktop View on Microsoft Edge

Here are the steps to display a website in desktop view on Microsoft Edge


  1. Open the Microsoft Edge browser on your device.

  3. Select "Settings" from the menu.
