Generally, all universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education will start selling their forms (post-UTME/screening) after candidates have registered JAMB, done the UTME (CBT), and got their UTME results. However, NDA sells its own form even before the JAMB form will be out at all.
This is a clear confusion but it's what it is. I knew this was the same confusion a student found himself when he asked me, "Can I register for NDA and write JAMB next year?"

The Correct Order is to Obtain the NDA Form Before the JAMB Form
Don't be mistaken! NDA will sell its forms a few months before the JAMB form will be out in the first place. While the academy will start selling forms, usually by October/November of the present year, the JAMB form will be out by January/February of the following year.
Whereas, it's the JAMB form which coming up early next year that will be used to process the NDA form you're buying this present time. In order words, if NDA is selling its form in the month of October or November of 2023, you'll obtain that and also obtain the JAMB form by January or February 2024. The academy will use both to consider you for admission.
As you can see, the guy who asked the question was only confused. He was right about that arrangement. In short, he could register for NDA and write JAMB next year. In fact, he must register now and obtain next year's JAMB.

NDA Forms Will Remain on Sale till JAMB Form Closes Though
Even though the NDA form comes out before JAMB UTME, the former will remain on sale till the latter is out and will remain on sale all through the time the board sells its form. In fact, if you decide to wait till the JAMB form is out by January or February before you obtain the NDA form together JAMB UTME form, it's quite possible and acceptable. It's never late!
Do you know why? The NDA form won't close that early. Even if they start selling it in November or earlier, they will leave the form on sale and portal open till the JAMB form is out and throughout its sale time.
In fact, if JAMB extends the sale of its UTME form, NDA usually will extend the sale of its own till the same date. In other words, the closing date for the JAMB form is usually the closing date for the NDA form too.
Leave Space for the JAMB Registration Number Empty When Filling NDA Form
If you're picking up the NDA form right now or before the JAMB form is out, there will be a space to fill in the JAMB registration/exam number. You'll leave that space empty to continue and complete your registration. However, you're to return to the NDA portal to update the JAMB registration number later after obtaining your JAMB form.
The NDA form is editable, savable, and resumable. You can skip any information and still be able to supply that later. You can resume where you stop. You may not submit the application finally until the last day. As a result, NDA expects and requires you to return to its portal later after obtaining your JAMB form to complete any missing items in the form.
For example, let's say you fill out the NDA form in November or December, you can save your information on that portal. Even if you complete and submit the form at this time, the portal is designed to allow you to log in, any time later, to edit its content. When you have your JAMB registration number in January or February, you should log in and fill in the missing JAMB registration number to finalize your application.

Before JAMB UTME, NDA will Schedule you For the Entrance Exam
While most other universities will be conducting post-UTME/screening after your JAMB results are out, NDA will schedule its entrance exams for applicants before UTME. In other words, the first exam you'll sit for is the NDA. Then, JAMB comes after.
If you pass or fail the NDA exam, you won't know until JAMB conducts its own UTME and results are released. NDA won't publish its exam results but will ask JAMB to send the list of its aspirants to the management so that they can shortlist those who pass both their entrance exam and meet the JAMB cut-off marks.
In other words, NDA won't invite you for its screening (which follows its exam and JAMB) if you don't meet the JAMB cut-off mark of 180 (for a science and art course) and 220 (for an engineering course). Those who meet this and pass the NDA exams will be called for the second and final stage of the admission exercise - called screening/interview.

ReplyDeleteSir please i'm having two results which is Waec-Gce and Neco (two sittings), and i want to write normal Waec dis year and the result should be out around August. What's ur advice for me should i go on with the two-sittings result or hold on till my upcoming waec result is out
