A few NDA-interested candidates have asked me this question a few times in the past. Can I gain admission into NDA without JAMB?
To have asked such a question, apparently, these students are aware that universities, generally for full-time programs, require aspirants to write JAMB.
Some know that NDA requires JAMB too, like every other university. But they're not sure if the academy still admits without JAMB.
After all, there are full universities and polytechnics that admit without JAMB. As such NDA may have such provisions too.
I've also noticed that very many aspirants misunderstand NDA for O'level students for that graduates.
Let's discuss this.
NDA Admission Number (ii) Requirement is JAMB and It's Compulsory
Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is just like any other university within the ambit of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB). Hence, they compulsory require all interested aspirants to obtain JAMB forms.
This is addressing you, if you have WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS to gain admission into the university.
You see, apart from the SSCE (level) result which is primarily required for any school or course in Nigeria, JAMB is the number two requirement by the Nigerian Defence Academy, for its admission.
To this end, you can't enter NDA without writing JAMB. Writing is not even enough as you have to pass as well between 180 to 210 depending on the course of interest.

NDA Direct/Short Service Commission (D/SSC) Won't Require JAMB
This section is not for secondary school leavers who want to join the Nigerian Defence Academy. The section above is yours!
If you're already a graduate from any other university or polytechnic who intends to join NDA at its short-service commission level, you won't need JAMB.
You're already a graduate and joining NDA at this point is more of employment than schooling.
With at least Second Class Lower for a BSC holder and Lower Credit for an HND holder, you're qualified for the NDA short service program application.

NDA Postgraduate Programs Don't Require JAMB
Similar to the short service commission application, if you wish to further your studies to the postgraduate level, NDA has the postgraduate diploma, Master's Degree, and Ph.D. Degree programs for rightful applicants. And none will require JAMB.
Accordingly,
- Postgraduate Diploma applicants must only possess a:
- Bachelor's degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy or any other recognized University;
- Higher National Diploma (with a minimum of Lower Credit pass), provided the academy matriculation requirement is satisfied.
Master’s Degree applicants must:
- be a graduate of the Nigeria Defence Academy or any other recognized University and possess a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in the relevant discipline.
- have a minimum of GPA not less than 4.0 (on a scale of 5) grade at a postgraduate diploma from the Academy may also be admitted to a Masters's Degree program or a GPA of 3 .50 or 8 grade for a professional Masters's Degree program.
MPhil/Ph.D. Degree Program is open to candidates who score less than a CGPA of 3.5 (but not below 3.2) on a 5-point scale or an equivalent of 60%.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Second Class Honours, Lower Division) and an academic Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CG PA of 3.50 or B grade in the appropriate area of study from Nigerian Defence Academy or any other reorganized university.
