OND/NCE holders can use a newer SSCE result for HND or Direct Entry admissions, as institutions in Nigeria widely accept updated results to replace those used for previous qualifications.
An OND/NCE holder proceeding to HND or university (with Direct Entry) may want to know if it's possible to use a newer SSCE result to process his admission. In other words, can a candidate use this year's or next year's WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB result for HND admission or Direct Entry application into universities instead of the result he earlier used for the OND program?
Well, if you're in these shoes, your scenario can be as illustrated below.
Yemi gained OND admission in the year 2017. He used his WAEC result. The grades there were not too strong but they qualified him for the programme anyway. Perhaps he didn't make English, Mathematics, Biology, or Physics in that result.

In that post, I explained that you could do that. You can do it, not only while in a higher institution but also after you're done with one program and wish to process another.
Therefore, the answer to this question is as simple as YES, you can use a newer O'level result to process your HND or Direct entry admission. This is widely accepted by institutions in Nigeria.

Candidates Who Must Obtain a New Result for HND or Direct Entry Admission
Master Orji was in my office recently to apply for the Federal Polytechnic Bida and Oko admission forms. His previous course was Transportation Management from The Oke Ogun Polytechnic.
The poor guy was admitted to Transportation Planning and Management even though he was an Art student. At his former polytechnic, they usually admit candidates from Science, Commercial, or Art backgrounds into the course.

A similar situation is if you must obtain a Direct Entry form and consider a university that requires O'level subjects you didn't have or write in the old result, you'll need to obtain another SSCE to provide for the deficiencies.
It's acceptable to use a different result from the one used for your past qualifications/programs.

I rewrite my ssce for hnd but my school is insisting I get the original copy of my results for clearance, please advice
ReplyDeleteIf it's a year old or about 9 months, the original result should be ready now. Go back to the school where you write it to collect it and if it's GCE, you may need to exam body's office to collect the certificate or the original result. If GCE WAEC, follow the guide below.
