For several years, UNILORIN has been one of the most chosen universities in JAMB UTME/DE. The University has been claiming the top spots for more than a decade. In fact, for 2021, 2022, and 2023, it remains the number one most competitive university.

With this, it's apparent that the university, even if it wishes, will not be able to accommodate all its first-choice candidates, not to mention the second-choice applicants.

For example, in 2019, 2021, and 2022, the university admitted about 12,000 candidates out of more than a hundred thousands of their die-hard aspirants.

You wouldn't still be surprised if I told you that the university is still topping the list of the most competitive university in 2023 being tailed by 73,749 candidates.

UNILORIN Will Neither Accept Nor Admit Any 2nd Choice Candidate

It's one thing to be able to choose a school as the second choice in JAMB, it's another to be able to process admission into the institution. If you want to consider UNILORIN as the second choice in JAMB or change of institution, if you're stopped by the system, you're to do that.

However, the bad news is that, even with that, you won't be able to process admission into the university. But why?

The university will only request the list of candidates who make it their first choice from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This is the list that the school ICT will upload to the admission portal. Consequently, these are the candidates who will be able to continue with the post-UTME screening when the portal is finally opened.

As you can see, so far, the university is too competitive to be considering second-choice candidates when it doesn't even have the capacity to admit all the first-choice students.
