When Will UNILORIN Start To Give Admission This Year?

After the JAMB result comes the post-UTME. And after that comes the admission list, right? But when will UNILORIN admission lists be out?

This is the most important question to UNILORIN applicants who have obtained the university post UTME form and possibly have written or are about to write the exam.

In this post, we'll look into when eventually will the university management release the admission lists for this year.

UNILORIN Admission Lists May Be Out By April/May

The prolonged union strike (ASUU) has really disrupted the university's calendar. Consequently, the usual time to expect admission lists had been seriously affected.

I've generally answered this for most schools as follows.

In all, you can be expecting your school's admission (lists) starting from the fourth month after JAMB results or the second month after post-UTME. The duration of releasing batched of these lists may equally extend to weeks or months.

But for the University of Ilorin, last year's admission list which was released late, around April and May, has given the red light that this year's admission, lists might not be out until next April or May or thereabout.

While most other universities admitted students by September, October, November, and December last year, UNILORIN didn't even conduct its post-UTME until February which consequently forced it to admit a few months after.

All things being equally, the admitted students are not expected to be on campus until November this year. Hence, if the lists for the next intakes come out by the same time as the last, they're likely to resume too by November or thereabout - next year.

Until the university is able to bring normalcy to its calendar, there won't be any significant difference from what we had last year.

Wondering if The Lists Are Out?

Have you done the post-UTME a few weeks back? You can satisfy yourself by checking your school portal and JAMB portal to know if the lists are already out.

1. Checking on the JAMB Portal

To check your UNILORIN admission status on the JAMB portal:

1. Visit the JAMB e-facility or click https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/Login
2. Log in with your linked email and password received from JAMB or changed to
3. Navigate to "Check Admission Status". Click on that to open "Admission Status"
4. Now, choose the correct year and click "Access My CAPS". You may need to change your browser to desktop view at this stage before you can see things completely
5. Now, click on the link "Admission status". If already offered, accept. Otherwise, check back later.

2. Checking on UNILORIN Admission Portal

1. Visit the admission portal or https://uilugportal.unilorin.edu.ng/putme_login.php
2. Log in with your JAMB registration number
3. On your dashboard, locate and click on "Check Admission Status"
4. If offered, proceed to accept. Otherwise, check back later

Conclusion

If you're a die-hard lover of the University of Ilorin, you can stick to the university until its post-UTME will be out (expected to be later than most schools). As you must have anticipated too, lists will be as delayed as the previous year.

However, there is the certainty the university will conduct post-UTME for the next intake and process their admission, no matter the lateness.
