JAMB: No Changes Allowed for Emails, Phone Numbers

In a recent interaction on social media, a parent named Olalekan Oshinuga expressed concerns about the inability to change an email address associated with his son's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration
. 

Oshinuga, under the username @delakeside, reached out to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) via Twitter, explaining that his son had mistakenly used the wrong email during the previous year's registration. He expressed worry that this error might affect his son's admission prospects in the year 2024.

Responding to these concerns, JAMB, through its official Twitter handle @JAMBHQ, reiterated its policy regarding registration details. The board emphasized that once a phone number or email address is used for registration on the JAMB portal, it cannot be altered.

JAMB stressed the importance of candidates keeping their registration details safe and retrievable, highlighting the need for accuracy during the registration process.

In their response, JAMB advised Oshinuga's son to either retrieve the mistakenly used email address or create a new account that matches the incorrect one used in the previous year's registration. 

JAMB restates you can't change your phone number

For the ongoing registration, JAMB stated that the only requirement for candidates who registered in the previous year was the phone number used at that time. This number is necessary to send a command to either 55019 or 66019 to retrieve the profile code needed for the 2024 UTME registration.
