While registering for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), you may want to consider the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, Kaduna State. The university may also come to mind if you're trying to change institutions/courses.

There are important things to note on any of the above occasions. You should be certain if the university has the proposed course, the UTME subjects required for it, the SSCE subjects that are compulsory for the course, and in the case of the DE applicants, the base course and grade required.

Important Guidelines to Study the Brochure

1. For better understanding, below, you will see the names of the courses. And below each course, you will see the SSCE i.e. WAEC, NECO, GCE, NBAIS, or NABTEB subject requirements numbered 1 with UTME subjects numbered 2.
2. Only three UTME subjects will be included in each course. This is because English is general to all courses. Hence, it's not repeated to save space.
3. It should be noted that even though the official JAMB Brochure includes Direct Entry requirements, NDA, to date, has not been accepting DE applications all its programmes will commence from the 100-level. This can equally be seen in its official requirements as should its advert on its admission portal.

List of Courses Offered at the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna, their UTME, and SSCE Requirement

1. Accounting

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
2. Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject

2. Biological Science(s)

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other Science subject.
2. Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.

3. Biotechnology

1. Five (5) SSC Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
2. Biology, Chemistry and any other Science subject.

4. Chemistry

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
2. Chemistry and two (2) of Physics, Biology and Mathematics.

5. Civil Engineering

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one Science subject
2. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

6. Computer Science

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, and Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.
2. Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.

7. Cyber-Security

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.
2. Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.

8. Defence And Security Studies

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes  including English Language Government or History and at least a pass in Mathematics
2. Three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects

9. Economics

1. Five (5)SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Arts or Social Science subjects.
2. Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography, Literature in English, French and Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies.

10. Electrical/Electronics Engineering

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other Science subject.
2. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

11. French

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes including French and English Language plus one other Arts subject.
2. French and any other two (2) subjects from Arts and Social Sciences.

12. Geography

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Geography, and any three (3) from Arts or Social Science subjects with at least a pass in Mathematics.
2. Geography and two (2) other Arts or Social Science subjects

13. History

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include History and English Language.
2. History and any other two (2) subjects from Arts and Social Sciences.

14. Intelligence And Security Studies

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three (3) other subjects.  A pass in Mathematics is required.
2. Three (3) Social Science or Arts subjects.

15. Management

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, plus any two (2) of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography, and Statistics.
2. Mathematics, Economics and one (1) other subject.

16. Mathematics

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.
2. Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry and Economics or Geography.

17. Mechanical Engineering

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other Science subject.
2. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

18. Mechatronics Engineering

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry ,English Language and any other Science subject.
2. Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.

19. Military Science

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes  including English Language Government or History and at least a pass in Mathematics
2. Three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects

20. Physics

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other Science subject from Further Mathematics and Biology or Agricultural Science.
2. Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology.

21. Political Science And Defence Studies

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes  including English Language Government or History and at least a pass in Mathematics
2. Three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects

22. Psychology

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three (3) other subjects.  A pass in Mathematics is required.
2. Any three (3) subjects from Arts or Social Science

23. Transport And Logistics Management

1. Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
2. Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject
