Remember when you register for UTME/DE, JAMB made the use of the national ID card compulsory or the National Identity Number (NIN) thereon.
Of course, this use of national ID for JAMB was just recently introduced. Hence, it might be wise to ask if to register post-UTME/DE too, will the use of the national ID will be required?
In this post, I will answer this question and related concerns.

NIN Will Not Be Required for Post UTME/DE Registrations
Contrary to what prospective applicants may be thinking, you won't be required to make your national ID card ready for the purpose of post-UTME/DE registration. No number on the ID card (including the NIN) will be required when filling out your form.
Mostly, schools will only require the aspirants to fill out online forms which require filling in information such as:
- Full names
- Home address
- State of origin
- Local Government of Origin
- Date of Birth
- Phone Number
- Gender
- Next of Kin Names
- Next of Kin Address
- Next of Kin Phone Number
- Relation with the Next of Kin
- Parents/Guardian/Sponsors name
- Parents/Guardian/Sponsors Address
- Parents/Guardian/Sponsors Phone

There is no NIN inclusion in the post-UTME/DE or screening in the past. And that's unlikely now or in the nearest future.
Similarly, while going for fresher's documentation, after being admitted or during physical screening exercise, there may not be a request for national ID or its NIN.
However, for institutions such as the Nigerian Police Academy (POLAC), Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), College of Health Technology, Offa, and those that may be updated later, you will need your NIN during the post-UTME registration or while printing your admission letter.
Conclusion
As a matter of fact, if you had your NIN in place or the card for the purpose of JAMB UTME/DE registration, you should have the same if ever will be asked for during the post-UTME/DE registration. However, if for any reason, misplacement or so, you don't have them again this time, no need to panic as it's unlikely to be needed for the post-JAMB series.
