How To Know My Post UTME/Screening Dates

JAMB logo
Of course, newcomers will be worried about how to know the screening dates or post UTME days/schedules. Those who had done it once or twice before now, should by now, know where to turn to when trying to know when a school post UTME or screening date will come up.

Let's break things down.

After registering your post UTME/screening online, there are three possibilities.

  1. Your post UTME/screening registration slip may contain the exact date you will be writing your post UTME or attending the physical screening
  2. Your slip may not, right now, display the information, but ask you to check back (to reprint the date) later.
  3. Your Registration slip may not display that information at all (and without the instruction to reprint later).

In the first and second cases, you already know when to be on campus for the test or screening or when to return for the reprint. And if there will be a postponement, you're likely to be contacted directly by the school through email submitted during the post UTME registration or phone number (for SMS) or the school portal maybe update for the news on the postponement.

However, in the third case, you should be confused by now. You don't see the date of the exams or screening on the acknowledgment slips/printout. So, how do you know the date? Below are the possible means to confirm what your exams or screening date will be.

1. Check the Post UTME/Screening Advert for Dates

Sometimes, some schools won't show the exams/screening date on the printouts. They would have included that in the screening/post UTME adverts. But because most candidates didn't read the details of the adverts before their registrations, they might have missed that.

Kindly go back to the website of your school and read the entire instructions on the post UTME/screening to see if schedules were already detailed therein.

2. Follow Your School's Updates on the Portal

Every institution that doesn't show the exams date immediately after the registration or doesn't show it in the post UTME adverts will keep their applicants updated right on their websites.

There should be a dedicated side of your school's portal for news and updates. Right at the homepage, you may be greeted with pop-up news or an update window about the current and next activities of the school. Keep following the latest at such places to see if the school is calling you up for exams or screening sooner.

3. Your School May not Even Conduct Post UTME/Physical Screening

Some schools post UTMEs require you to visit the school campus to take part in the CBT test. Such universities include UI, UNILORIN, OAU, UNIBEN, etc. Some test their aspirants online without having to come to the campus. Such institutions include KWARAPOLY, (and lately) KWARA STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH, etc. Schools that conduct physical screening may require you to come with your documents after you'd completed the online registrations. Such institutions include FEDERALPOLY OFFA, THE OKE OGUN POLYTECHNIC, SAKI

However, some schools won't do either post UTME or pay to screen. Instead, these institutions only require you to register online and wait got admission lists.

Yes. This is called only screening. In most cases, as soon as you submit your online screening registrations, your printout will contain the score or aggregate mark you're awarded by your UTME and O'level grades. For example FUOYE, Federal Polytechnic Ado, Osun State Poly Iree, and others.

Be sure you know the method your school is using before you keep waiting for dates that will never come. If you belong to any of those schools, you won't see any date after your registration and the school won't call you for any test or physical screening. Just wait for the admission list.

4. Join a Reliable Blog mail list

If you are already sure that your school uses either the post UTME test or physical screening but after your registration, no such date is made know, you just follow updates on dedicated education blogs such as schoolcontents.info. We actually will do everything within our capacity to keep our subscribers updated.

Most blogs may not refresh the content from time to time. Yet, dropping a question in the comment section may force the admin to find out the dates for your before replying to your questions. Other readers are aware of such schedules may also be of help. See: Steps to Gain Admission to Nigeria Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges (PART II).

5. Join Groups on Whatsapp or Facebook

Most institutions are now operating their own official Facebook and Twitter accounts. This is one of the most dynamic platforms where they will be releasing updates that will, of course, include the dates of exams or screening.

Find out your school's Facebook and Twitter pages. Join and keep following.

Similarly, a few students seeking admission to the same institutions are now creating groups on Whatsapp, telegram, etc. This can be another means to be following updates. However, you should be careful with your dealings with people on these hidden platforms. You can easily be duped or scammed. Take every information with a pinch of salt.

6. Register Your Post UTME with a Qualified Cafe

From my own view, a qualified local cafe should be able to gather enough information for its clients when they ask questions. Especially when a cafe is not all about your money, it should go miles to get information on exam dates for candidates registering with it.

If you know of a reputable cafe that can share the right information with you when you need it, register with them. And keep calling or visiting for updates about your proposed institution.

NEED a guide, further explanation, update or answer on something? Check if that has been covered on this blog by searching your question on Google and add schoolcontents.info in front e.g  Will I be offered admission with 150 + schoolcontents.info.  My posts on it or related ones will be displayed for you by Google.
