The Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti conducts an online screening process, rather than a post-UTME exam, for its admissions, where candidates must fill out an online form with their bio-data, O'level results, and UTME scores; the polytechnic then calculates an aggregate score based on these inputs, with admission granted if the candidate's score meets or exceeds the department's cut-off mark.
Which one then? Post UTME or screening? And if screening, is it online screening only, physical screening only, or both?
In this post, I'll be answering the question of whether the Federal Polytech Ado will use post-UTME or screening for this year's admission.
Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti Does Screening For the Aspirants
If you're seeking admission into the Federal Polytechnic, it should be a relief to learn that the management of this federal institution prefers using screening for their admission seekers to post UTME.
Whereas, out of the available screening options:
- online screening only
- physical screening only and
- online screening plus physical screening,
... the polytechnics chooses to go with ONLINE SCREENING. In this case, the polytechnic only requires aspirants to fill out admission forms online and await admissions.
Stages of Admission Processes of the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti
Below are the stages and steps to be on the lookout for regarding the Federal Polytechnic Ado online screening and admission processes.
- The Polytechnic will announce the sale of their post-UTME screening form right on the official admission portal
- In the announcement, the polytechnic will declare the basic requirements and eligibility for their admissions which include the UTME cut-off mark required, O'level result subjects and grades, age of the applicants, the price for the form, and other details. Even though there are other things to be conscious of if you truly want to be admitted such as not being below 16 years of age, uploading results to the JAMB portal too, etc.
- Whereas, the polytechnic strictly will prefer and consider applicants who chose the polytechnic as their first choice in the UTME. However, the room is still open to candidates who didn't choose them earlier but wish to change to them now (as first choice) before obtaining the form
- While filling out the online admission form, candidates will be required to fill in their bio-data, O'level subjects, and grades together with their UTME scores.
- After submission, candidates are to print the results of their online screenings immediately.
- The result will be calculated based on the required subjects for the course proposed and grades obtained from those grades together with the score in the UTME. In short, the higher the grades in those subjects and your JAMB score the higher will be your aggregate score and your chance to be offered admission.
- Before closing the screening form or sometimes after, the polytechnic will announce, the aggregate cut-off mark for each of the courses. Each candidate is expected to match his or her score with the one declared for his or her course/department.
- If the cut-off mark is met or beaten, congratulations as you're to be admitted.
- Otherwise, the polytechnic may announce to interested candidates to apply for a change of course directly on the school portal, and on the JAMB portal to be dropped to courses which their aggregate scores meet or beat.
- While considering the change, candidates will have to be watchful for the required SSCE and UTME subjects for the new courses before making the final decision.
