JAMB Giving Admission for 2024: Is it True?

I started this post after I got a dozen questions, from a few students who chatted with me because the news has it that JAMB was giving admissions to admission seekers for this year.

JAMB Has Started Releasing Admission Lists for 2023

As simple as it is, JAMB has started offering admissions to candidates at the time of this post. 

A few weeks after each institution closes its post UTME or screening forms, the board will be releasing admission lists to its portal.

However, if you've not got admission notice from JAMB or your school, it's possible the school has not even conducted the post UTME, the school has not opened the portal to even register for post UTME or screening, or their lists are not ready.

Some schools will continually be offering admission lists while still selling their forms. Some might have even closed their forms. This may be that JAMB is releasing their lists for now.

JAMB Truly Announced That Admission Lists Were Out

As a means to help further, JAMB has launched an SMS short code for candidates to know their status directly through their phones. They don't need to login into their JAMB profiles again before knowing their status.

According to JAMB, to check your admission status on phone through SMS:

1. Send STATUS 2024 to 55019
2. A confirmation message will enter your phone after being charged N50.
3. This message should state if you're offered admission for the year or not. 
4. And in case of any issues or errors, you're to contact JAMB through https://support.jamb.gov.ng

Conclusion

In the meantime, activities such as change of institutions and courses, the printing of results, post UTME or screening registrations, and more continue as usual.

Any admission list news should be addressing this year's admission seekers. All 2023 candidates should expect any admission offers continually till this year's admission exercise is over.
