Bad Request' Error SMS |
Several students have sought assistance in addressing this issue, and I have guided them through the process. Recently, some affected students also contacted JAMB for a resolution.
In this post, I will share the official JAMB solution to the error, "Bad Request, You can only send Other Commands using this Endpoint." Additionally, troubleshooting tips will be provided for you to try before resorting to the JAMB solution if initial attempts prove unsuccessful.
JAMB Instructs to Visit the CBT Center for Assistance
Given that this issue is not commonplace and easily resolved, the recommended course of action by the board is to visit any of its accredited CBT centers for assistance. A student lodged a complaint with JAMB, stating,"I keep on receiving this message each time I send the command to create my profile code."
In response, JAMB advised,
"Kindly visit any JAMB-accredited CBT Centre near you for necessary assistance."

Other Possible Solutions to the Error or Complaint:
- Remove your SIM/line from a smartphone, such as an Android or iPhone, if you are using one. Then, insert the SIM into a basic phone and retry sending your NIN to 55019/66019.
- Attempt with another SIM. You can purchase a new SIM and retry the process. Alternatively, you may use your parents' SIM.
- Change the network provider. If you were using Airtel initially, try using MTN, Glo, or 9mobile, and vice versa.
