Profile Code 'PEXPIRED' Issue: JAMB's Official Solution

Several JAMB students have contacted me regarding issues they encountered while attempting to generate their profile codes. These students received the message "PEXPIRED" when sending their NIN to 55019/66019.

In this post, I will not only provide the official solution to this problem but also share specific troubleshooting tips that I have utilized to assist others with the "PEXPIRED" complaint.

1. JAMB's Official Solution to the Reply "PEXPIRED"

One student, facing difficulty generating a Profile Code for their brother, received a generic response from JAMB. The student reported, "It has become so difficult for us to generate the Profile Code for my brother; the return command is PEXPIRED."

JAMB's response was as follows: "Please, send RESEND to 55019 or 66019, depending on the one you previously used on the JAMB portal, with the same phone number."

This complaint seems prevalent among candidates who have previously generated a JAMB profile for earlier registrations. To reactivate and receive your profile code, it is imperative to follow the instructions provided by the board.

2. Troubleshooting Tips

1. Wait for some hours before retrying: Allow approximately 5 hours to pass before attempting to get the profile code again. Text your NIN to 55019/66019 as usual after the waiting period.
2. Resend at early hours of the day: Retry sending your text during the early hours of the day or late at night. Network issues may be less prevalent during these hours, minimizing potential traffic.
3. Use a different phone: Remove the SIM/line from your current phone and insert it into another device, especially one with basic functionality. Resend the message using the alternative device.
4. Switch network providers: If the issue persists, try using a different network provider such as MTN, Airtel, or 9mobile. Alternatively, consider using your parents' SIM card to obtain your profile code.
