FUTA Post-UTME Receipt Shows DE: Any Problem?

FUTA logo
I’ve just paid for the Federal University of Technology, Akure post UTME. Then, I got an email notice that I paid for Direct Entry. Why? What should I do? I can I can I resolve this?

That's the message I got from one of my students who paid for my request-reply service.

The guy had registered for FUTA post-UTME and instead of getting an email notice that he paid for screening/post-UTME, he got the Direct Entry (DE) notice instead.

He wanted to know if he had paid wrongly or if something had gone wrong elsewhere.

In this post, if you’re in the same shoes, you’ll find the answers to this concern.

FUTA Post-UTME (Screening) and Post-DE Forms Are Paid For The Same Way

The first point to know is that whether you’re paying for the post-UTME (applying as a 100-level aspirant) or a DE (applying as a 200-level aspirant), you’re to use the same platform, link, and template.

Remiat Receipt through Email

Hence, when sending receipts to individual aspirants’ emails, the system doesn’t necessarily differentiate between UTME and DE applicants. Once the payment is made, all that matters is to send you the receipt without differentiating between DE or UTME.

The Remita Receipt Was Set Up To Show Direct Entry (DE)

When you receive the receipt, whether you’re a DE or UTME, the title or subject of that email or remita receipt may read Direct Entry (DE). This is because it’s Remita's setup that heads the message as Direct Entry.

By implication, it doesn’t separate DE from UTME. Both DE and UTME candidates will receive the same email with the same subject. In actual reality, it doesn’t mean that you’ve paid for DE instead of UTME.

School Management is Aware of This Remita Setup and Confusion

The school management has long been aware of this setup. To them, it’s not a problem and means nothing serious, just as earlier stated.

The remita receipt showing “Direct Entry” is widely accepted from all applicants. Hence, when going for your post-UTME screening, you’ll all be required to take this along (if exam).

If not, when you’re offered admission and you’re to appear for freshers' documentation or students’ bio-data registration, it’s the same remita that is accepted and recognized for both the UTME and DE applicants.

Wrap Up!

If you find yourself in a situation where you've paid for the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) post UTME but received an email notice for Direct Entry (DE), there's no need to panic.

The system and Remita setup do not differentiate between UTME and DE payments, and it is a common occurrence. The school management is fully aware of this and accepts the "Direct Entry" receipt for both UTME and DE applicants.

So, rest assured that you have not paid for the wrong category, and there is no need to take any immediate action.

When you attend your post-UTME screening or any future documentation, the same Remita receipt will be recognized and accepted. This should alleviate any concerns you may have had about the payment notice mix-up.
