UTME Subjects and SSCE Requirements for Anatomy

Individual Universities' JAMB UTME Subjects Combination for Anatomy
Human Anatomy
While seeking admission for Anatomy through the JAMB UTME, candidates must understand a few things foremost.

Admission seekers must understand:

  1. the list of the universities offering Anatomy
  2. the UTME subjects to write in UTME for Anatomy
  3. the SSCE subjects required to study Anatomy
  4. the JAMB cut off marks required for Anatomy
  5. individual universities' cut off marks or departmental cut off marks for Anatomy
  6. and other similar factors that may give them the edge in gaining admissions or being deprived of the offers.

This post will take you through all these concerns and the related ones starting from what JAMB requires subjects/grades in UTME and O'level if you must process admission for Anatomy.

JAMB Admission Requirements for Anatomy

Strictly, JAMB requires admission seekers to:

  2. write English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in UTME

However, a few universities require or accept more or less. That takes us to the next section.

JAMB and Universities' Cut-Off Marks for Anatomy

JAMB will yearly draw national cut off marks for universities offering Anatomy. While the exact score may be accepted by some universities, others may draw higher marks. For instance, JAMB usually draws 160 or above for universities. With this, the universities may accept to use the same or draw a bit higher.

Experience has shown that if you must secure admission for Anatomy, it will be better if you score 200 or above notwithstanding. Where a university claims to accept 160 or less than 200, competing with candidates with higher marks may deprive you of admission eventually.

After registering for the university's post UTME/screening, a university may draw what is called "departmental cut-off marks" to weed out more candidates. Hence, succeeding with the UTME score and O'level subjects/grades is not enough. You should also pass the post UTME and beat or meet the departmental cut off marks before you can be offered admission for Anatomy.

Of course, there are other factors that may deprive you of admission. I detail these serious reasons in my post, "5 Reasons You May Not Be Offered Admission This Year".
