While registering for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or Direct Entry (DE), you may want to consider the Federal University Of Technology, Akure, Ondo State. The university may also come to mind if you're trying to change institutions/courses.

There are important things to note on any of the above occasions. You should be certain if the university has the proposed course, of the UTME subjects required for it, the SSCE subjects that are compulsory for the course, and in the case of the DE applicants, the base course and grade required.

Important Guidelines to Study the Brochure

1. For better understanding, below, you will see the names of the courses. And below each course, you will see the Direct Entry requirement numbered 1, SSCE i.e. WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB subject requirements numbered 2 with UTME subjects numbered 3.
2. Where the DE requirement states "A'level". This includes Advanced programmes qualifications such as JUPEB, IJMB, Cambridge, etc. Just be sure you know the one being accepted by the university
3. Only three UTME subjects will be included in each course. This is because English is general to all courses. Hence, it's not repeated to save spaces

3. Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Physics or Mathematics.

4. Animal Production And Health 

1. Two ‘A’ Level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology/Botany /Zoology/Agricultural Science/ Geography/Geology/ Mathematics/Economics.
2. Five SSC credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics and English Language.
3. Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics/Mathematics.

5. Applied Geology 

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes from Geology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Geography.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other subject.
3. Any three (3) of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Geography. 

6. Applied Geophysics 

1. 'A' Level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology.
3. Any three (3) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. 

7. Architecture 

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes chosen from Mathematics or Physics and Chemistry, Geography or Fine Arts. (ii ND/HND upper credits in relevant field.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any of Fine Art, Geography or Wood Work, Biology, Economics, Technical Drawing, Further. Mathematics., Introduction to Building Construction, Bricklaying/Block laying, Concreting, Wall, Floors and Ceiling Finishing, Joinery, Carpentry, Decorative Painting, Lining, Sign and Design, Wall Hanging, Color Mixing/Matching and Glazing, Ceramics, Graphics Design, Graphic Printing, Basic Electricity.
3. Physics, Mathematics, and any of Chemistry, Geography, Art, Biology and Economics.

8. Biochemistry

1. Two (2) 'A' Level passes chosen from Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology. (ii NCE/ND/HND in related programmes plus the UTME requirements.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.
3. Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics. 

9. Biology

1. i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes from Chemistry, Biology, Botany/Zoology. (ii) NCE merit accepted.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics.
3. Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.

10. Biomedical Technology 

1. Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Biology/ Zoology/Botany and Mathematics.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
3. Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

11. Biotechnology 

1. Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry or Physics.
2. Five (5) SSC Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
3. Biology, Chemistry and any other Science subject.

12. Building

1. 'A' Level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and any one of Geography, Economics, Arts and Technical drawing. For holders of NTC, the other relevant subjects could be Intro. to Building Construction, Bricklaying, Concreting, Walls, Floors and Ceiling Finishing, Building/Engineering Drawing, Joinery, Carpentry, Gas, Steam Work and Bronze Welding, Cold / Hot Water Supply, Sanitation and Drainage.

13. Civil Engineering

1. (i) 'A' Level passes in Physics and Mathematics. (ii) ND/HND upper credit at appropriate levels. 
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one Science subject

14. Computer Engineering

1. Three (3) 'A' Level passes in Pure Mathematics or Pure and Applied Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and English Language.
3. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

15. Computer Science 

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics (ii) NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.
3. Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.

16. Crop, Soil And Pest Management 

1. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Botany/Zoology or Physics/Mathematics/Economics.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and one Science/Social Science subject and at least 'O' Level pass in Physics.
3. Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics or Physics.

17. Cyber Security 

1. i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics (ii) NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.
3. Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.

18. Ecotourism & Wildlife Management 

1. (i)  ND with a minimum of upper credit or equivalent from recognized Polytechnics and Colleges of Wildlife Management in relevant programs (Agricultural Sciences).  Such candidates are also expected to meet the requirements for UTME admissions specified in   (a)above. (ii) Candidates who possess ‘A Level passes in at least two (2) of the following subjects are eligible for admission:  Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Geography or Economics.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, and any two (2)  subjects from Chemistry, Geography, Economics and at least 'O' Level pass in Physics. 
3. English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science and any two (2) of Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Mathematics and Physics.

19. Electrical/Electronics Engineering 

1. Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry

2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics, Basic Catering and Food Services, Bakery and    Confectionaries, Hotel & Catering Crafty course (Cookery), Hotel & Catering Craft Course (Food /Drinks Services) and Basic Electricity.

24. Forestry And Wood Technology

25. Human Anatomy 

1. Two (2) 'A' Level passes chosen from Biology, Chemistry and Physics in addition to the UTME requirements.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
3. Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

26. Industrial And Production Engineering 

1. 'A' Level passes in Mathematics and Physics.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other Science subject.
3. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

27. Industrial Chemistry 

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics (ii) ND in Science Technology or ND in relevant programmes with the UTME requirements.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science.
3. Chemistry, Mathematics and any of Physics/Biology/ Agricultural Science.

28. Industrial Design 

1. (i) 'A' Level passes in Two (2) of Fine Arts, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. (ii)  ND in Industrial Design or Glass Technology or Fine Art at credit level.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Fine Art, Mathematics, Chemistry. Spinning; Weaving; Surface Design and Printing; Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing; Ceramics; Graphic Design; Graphic Printing; Decorative Painting, Spray  Painting, Lining, Sign and Design, Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing, Building/Engineering Drawing, General Wood Work. 
3. Chemistry, Mathematics and Fine Arts/Physics.

29. Industrial Mathematics

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes from Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Chemistry. (ii) NCE merit in relevant subjects.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two (2) other Science subjects.
3. Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science.

30. Information And Communication Technology 

1. 'A' Level passes/ND and HND in relevant subjects into 200 and 300 levels.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Economics and Mathematics.
3. Mathematics, Economics and any one of Account, Commerce and Government.

31. Information Systems 

1. i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics (ii) NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.
3. Mathematics, Physics and one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.

32. Information Technology 

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics (ii) NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other Science subjects.

33. Marine Science And Technology 

1. Two (2) 'A' Level passes or NCE in Biology, Zoology or Botany and one other Science subject
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and two (2) other Science subject.
3. Biology and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

34. Mathematics 

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Mathematics and any other science subject. (ii) NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) of Physics, Chemistry or Economics
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.
3. Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry and Economics or Geography.

34. Mechanical Engineering

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. (ii) ND upper credit, NCE technical and HND in Mech. Engineering.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other Science subject.

35. Metallurgical And Material Engineering 

1. 'A' Level passes in any two (2) of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry

36. Meteorology

1. i) ND upper credit in Meteorology in addition to the 'O' Level requirements (ii)WMO Class II Certificate in Weather Forecasting in addition to the 'O' Level requirements (iii) 'A' Level passes in Mathematics and Physics in addition to the SSC requirements.
2. Five (5) SSC credit passes including Physics, Mathematics and English Language and either Chemistry or Geography

2. Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and at least three (3) subjects from Physics, Statistics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Economics and Geography.

46. Surveying And Geoinformatics 

1. (i) Two (2) 'A' Level passes chosen from Mathematics or Physics and Chemistry, Geography or Fine Arts. (ii. ND/HND upper credits in relevant field.

2. Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Art, History, IRK/CRK, Social Studies and Tech Drawing.
