JAMB and Universities Cut Off Marks for Botany Admissions

Having detailed the subjects, from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, that you will need for Botany and also stating the UTME subjects combination form the course, there are still a few things having to do with your admission.

After UTME, JAMB will announce the national cut off marks. You have to meet or beat this score before your proposed university can call you to register for its Post UTME/screening. In fact, a few universities will still draw higher cut-off marks than that of the board. Some, such as FUOYE, declare the different cut off marks for different courses.

What matters is meeting the cut-off mark of your school or the Botany department.

After this post UTME/screening, your university will still draw another cut-off mark, which is the final cut-off mark, upon which the admission list will be placed. For example, the university may calculate the aggregate score based on your JAMB score and Post UTME score and match that with the departmental cut-off marks.

If you meet or beat the final aggregate or departmental cut-off mark, congratulations as you could be lucky in the next admission list.

However, there a few other factors that may hinder you from being offered admission even if you satisfy the conditions above. See that in "Reasons You Might Not Gain Admission This Year- JAMB".
