Are There Certificates for GCE (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB)?

How TO Get WAEC GCE Certificate

Do you want to write WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB GCE? You must be thinking, perhaps, you won’t have a certificate if you do.

You might have written one, but now in dilemma, as to whether you will ever get a certificate for it.

The good news is, just like internal WAEC (May/June), you've got a certificate for your GCE too.

This has been officially answered by WAEC.

In the same vein, candidates writing or those who had written NECO GCE and NABTEB GCE should be confident that they have official certificates to collect.

It's equally important to note that, GCE certificates can only be collected at the exams body's state office - where the candidates wrote the papers.

How TO Get WAEC GCE Certificate

Having said that, there is a certificate for WAEC GCE, NECO GCE or NABTEB GCE, be there two ways to collect the result. While the in-office method is applicable to all the exams, the on-net method is currently applicable to WAEC GCE.

Requesting the Certificate in Office

For West African Examinations, to be specific, you should follow the steps below.

Visit the WAEC office of the state of exams. Where you have more offices within the same state, try any and take along the following:
  1. One passport
  2. GCE Photocard
  3. Computer print out of the GCE result
  4. N3,550.00 cash (payable to WAEC) or N10,000 (if you're outside the country)

NB: If your certificate has stayed in the WAEC office for more than 4years, the Custody Fee would apply.

FOR NECO and NABTEB: Follow the same procedures. It's unlikely for anything to be different.

Requesting the Certificate Online

It’s possible to request a certificate of WAEC GCE directly through the net.

Follow the guide in this post if you want to avoid visiting WAEC Office.
