Generally, all the listed schools require, for O'level, at least credit passes in:

1. Mathematics, 
2. English Language, 
3. Biology, 
4. Physics/Chemistry*, 
5. plus any other subject.

* With this, it means they consider Physics and Chemistry as one subject, not as an individual subject. Hence, the fifth subject can be any science subject. In other words, you have one of the Chemistry or Physics as still apply and be admitted.

Orthopaedic Technology is the art of casting and splinting broken bones and muscular injuries. The study program gives students the opportunity to get acquainted with the current possibilities of the orthopedic technologies sector in Nigeria and abroad; the patterns and prospects of change.

At the polytechnic entrance level, you'll be admitted into the polytechnic/college for the National Diploma. That's a two-year study in your field, after which you can work or proceed for the Higher National Diploma programme, which is another tow-year. You can as well cross to a university through Direct Entry admission.

Now, speaking of the direct entry, Orthopaedic Technology was formerly the ONLY OND course acceptable generally by all universities offering Nursing/Nursing Science. Although still being accepted to date, we now also have OND in Nursing.

1. A'level programmes such as IJMB, JUPEB, Cambridge & GCE A'level
2. Registered Nursing, obtainable after a 3-year basic Nursing programme, and
3. National Diploma in Nursing, recently adopted by a few schools and colleges of nursing,
4. Related first-degree progreame (BSC)

the most widely accepted by all universities offering Nursing for their direct entry admissions is "Orthopedic Technology".

Let's consider a few of these universities and what they officially state in the JAMB brochure for their direct entry admission requirements for Nursing.

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State requires, for Nursing Direct Entry,

1. 'A' Level passes in any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics
2. ND Upper Credit in Prosthesis and Orthopaedic Technology.
3. Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Biology/ Zoology, Chemistry and Physics plus three (3) other 'O' Level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, and English Language.
4. NRN or its approved equivalent plus five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language and four (4) Science subjects chosen from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene, Health Science, Further Mathematics, and General Science.

Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State requires, for Nursing Direct Entry, 

1. 'A' Level passes in any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics
2. ND Upper Credit in Prosthesis and Orthopaedic Technology.
3. Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Biology/ Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics plus three (3) other 'O' Level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics and English Language.
4. NRN or its approved equivalent plus five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language and four (4) Science subjects chosen from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene, Health Science, Further Mathematics and General Science.

Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, requires, for Nutsing Direct Entry,

1. 'A' Level passes in any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics
2. ND Upper Credit in Prosthesis and Orthopaedic Technology.
3. Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Biology/ Zoology, Chemistry and Physics plus  three (3) other 'O' Level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics and English Language.
4. NRN or its approved equivalent plus five (5) 'O' Level credit passes  in English Language and four (4) Science subjects chosen from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene, Health Science, Further Mathematics and General Science.
5. Nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (N&MCN) who also possess UTME requirements.
6. Three GCE Á' level certificate passes in the Sciences.
7. First-degree holders in related disciplines are eligible to apply
