Looking at the rate of failure and complaints in the just concluded UTME, it's possible that the board would reschedule another UTME, especially for those who failed.
According to a report, claimed to have originated from JAMB,
Due to the mass failure recorded in the 2021 JAMB UTME CBTs, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board hereby announces that there shall be a re-sit for students who scored lower than 170 in the Examination. These re-sits will hold on Saturday the 3rd of July. Visit portal.jamb.gov.ng/i-failed to get information on your centers.
The report went on to warn candidates that limited seats were available for the resit.
As a result of this and other related posts out there, candidates got worried. They wanted to know if the board had actually announced such.
This post will answer this question and set more light on a few related issues. Please, read this post to the very end to get a clear understanding.

JAMB Has Not Announced UTME Re-Sit for Candidates Who Failed
As a matter of fact, JAMB has not announced any re-sit. Even in the past, there were no records of JAMB calling candidates to resit for their tests because of mass failure.
The board, though might have, in the past, rescheduled candidates who for the board-based errors missed UTME or failed the exams. This time, there is also a re-schedule for that but there was a reschedule for another thing. More on this in the next section.
In the past, JAMB scheduled a make-up UTME for those that JAMB attended to their registrations manually after others had completed their registrations and the exams.
This set of students went to JAMB offices later to complain that they couldn't register for UTME due to NIN and related delays. If considered genuine, the board arranged for their manual registrations and later scheduled them for the exams. The 2021 make-up UTME was slated to be held on August 6.
What About the JAMB UTME Reschedule For 2022?
For 2022, JAMB has called on candidates who missed their UTME due to technical issues (not because they failed) for UTME resit by August 6, 2022.
In other words, if you missed your JAMB UTME due to technical issues, fingerprint problems, or network breakdown at the CBT center, and the related case and such occurrence were officially documented at the CBT center, you're to get ready for August 6, 2022, UTME.
According to the board,
This is to inform the general public especially JAMB candidates that the 2022 mop-up examination has been scheduled for August 6th, 2022; further information would be sent through emails and SMS to the affected candidates while the Mop-up examination notification slip would be available for printing on their profiles. However, candidates who for whatever reasons were absent at the main examination and those whose centers were canceled are not eligible for the mop-up examination.
If you're affected, expect an SMS informing you of reprinting or including the center for your exam.
