JAMB and Post UTME Cut-Off Mark Required for Architectural Technology

It will be deceiving to think if you have the right subject combination in your O'level and write the correct subjects in UTME, you're sure to be offered admission. There is more to being offered admission than that.

Candidates must equally score the right mark in the UTME and post UTME/Sscreening.

JAMB will announce the national cut off mark soon after the UTME results are released. However, these marks are not the final must-take by the institutions in the country. Some universities may draw a score range higher than that but never less

If we must go by history, JAMB might declare 160 above for universities offering Architectural Technology. However, a few of these universities, especially the federal-owned, may be adamant about 180 or 200 and above instead. It will be wise of you to check for the usual cut-off mark being adopted by your proposed universities.

Aside from this, each candidate, even if you meet the declared post UTME cut-off mark, will still participate in the post UTME/screening registration and exams (whichever application). Here, you must also meet or beat the departmental cut off marks. These departmental cut-off marks may be a product of the aggregate arrived from adding the JAMB score with Post UTME/Screening score and dividing that into two e.g OAU, UI, FUTA, etc. Another method is just the awarding of specific points to the O'level subject grades and summing with other marks e.g FUOYE, LASU, etc.

Find out how your proposed university does calculate the final departmental aggregate cut-off mark to be sure of your chance.

It's only if your final aggregate score is higher or equals the departmental cut off marks that the school will eventually offer you admission. Check other factors that may deprive you the admission this year.
