Will OSCOTECH Esa-Oke Write Post UTME or Screening?

The Nature of Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke Admission Screening

A few candidates had asked if Osun State College of Technology Esa-Oke (OSCOTECH) will be conducting entrance exams for its aspirants this year or if the management does use screening instead.

They’re up to something!

Some are by now searching for a list of polytechnics that will not conduct post-UTME tests. They prefer not to attempt another exam after the UTME before being offered admission. This comes while the changing of institutions/courses exercise is ongoing. They need the right school to change to.

Anyway, this should be a relief if you don’t want to write any exams before admission is given.

The state-owned polytechnic DOESN’T conduct any post UTME/test.

Having said that, the polytechnic instead uses the screening method only. By this, it means online registration and physical checking of candidates' results and credentials. Here are the differences between post-UTME and screening only. Check it.

The Nature of Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke Admission Screening

This is the next point on your mind. You need a direct response to how the OSCOTECH screening exercise will go.

  1. The management will announce the sales of the post-UTME screening exercise on the school portal
  2. Applicants are to obtain the form and register online; during which they’re to fill in their UTME score and O’level subjects and grades. It's based on these that aspirants will be offered admission.
  3. Aspirants one or two days after submitting the online application forms. Each applicant will be attended by an assigned lecturer of his or her department for screening of aspirants' papers.
  4. After this, the management will compile the list of candidates they wish to offer admission to JAMB; based on the aspirants who meet up with the cut-off marks required from UTME and those who have at least 5 credit passes in their SSCE results relevant to their proposed courses. The management usually declares 150 and above as UTME cut-off marks. But this may change if they deem it fit.
  5. JAMB will update those candidates through CAPS on the individual candidate's JAMB profiles. This is why applicants should continually be checking their CAPS status messages
  6. When and if offered admission, candidates should accept it and wait for the polytechnic to also upload the list on the school portal.
