Nigerian Army (NA) Recruitment (2019) Form is Out. Procedures and Closing Date

This is to announce to the general public that the candidate registration web portal for 79RRI for Trades/Non-tradesmen and women is now open for interested candidates.
Note that the term non-tradesmen is used to mean recruits that will be real combating soldiers while Tradesmen means recruits that have different specialties such as plumbers, electricians etc.

Nigerian Army Recruitment Requirements and Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be a Nigerian citizen by birth and possess a National Identity Card.
  2. Possess a minimum of 4 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB. One of the credits must be in English Language.
  3. In addition to the above qualification, those applying for Tradesmen/women must also possess OND/Trades Test/City and Guild Certificate.
  4. Be between the ages of 18 – 22 years for non-tradesmen/women while tradesmen/women must be between the ages of 18 – 26 years by 21 December 2019.
  5. Not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.62 metres tall for male and female candidates
  6. Knowledge of additional Nigerian language other than mother tongue is an added advantage.
  7. The application starts on 7th October 2019  and closes on 29th November 2019.

Nigerian Army Method of Application

Interested candidates are to:
  1. Make sure you are currently on the official recruitment portal (See the at the end of the post)
  2. Create a user account to enable you to login. Your username must be a functional email
  3. Complete the application form, submit online and print a copy. Then, print and complete the Guarantor Form as appropriate.


Official Notice and Special Warnings

  1. There will be no Pre-selection Computer Based Test to be conducted on candidates.
  2. No special centre for recruitment.
  3. There will no Zonal Screening Exercise.
  4. All screening of potential recruits will be done at the candidates’ respective state of origin.
  5. Any candidate who falsifies or forges his/her results and discovered even during training at Deport NA would be withdrawn.
  6. All candidates are to report to the Screening Centres with their bank Verification Number Printout.
  7. Candidates are advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.

  9. Names of shortlisted candidates for screening would be released on 2nd December 2019 on the website.
  10. Shortlisted candidates are to report to their respective states of origin for the screening exercise on 8th December 2019.
  11. Successful candidates would be transported to Deport NA for documentation and training from 23 December 2019.
