This is to inform the general public, parents, sponsors, and eligible applicants that the University admission form into the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Programme is online/sales.

All the concerned should take note of the information below – cutting across the entry requirements for each programme, course, and level.

ADMISSION INTO OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING (ODL) DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION  

Applications are hereby invited from qualified candidates into the ODL Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in the Open and Distance Learning Centre of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

About LAUTECH Distance Learning (DLC) Programme

LAUTECH has operated the face to face model as the platform for training its undergraduate and graduate students, the belief that knowledge is not a finished product has driven the University to further its nest in the production of knowledge in the Open and Distance Learning mode to provide “learners the ability to fit learning around their lifestyles, effectively allowing even the busiest person to further a career and gain new qualifications”

In realizing this, we have deployed available technologies to make learning easy and exciting for our students.

1. The school runs an academic programme for 3 levels, namely; 100 level, 200 level, and 300 level.
2. In other words, applicants can be admitted to any of their levels depending on their earlier qualifications such as SSCE, OND, HND, and BSC.
3. See the list of courses and levels of the application before below proceed. 
4. The school awards Bsc for all the ODL courses instead of the B.Tech for their conventional programmes. This means, for the main university courses, 100-level admitted students will spend 4 years for their courses, whereas counterparts from Distance learning will only spend 4 years.

Admission Requirements and Eligibility into LAUTECH DLC 

1. Applicants for 100-level programmes should have 5 credit passes (at least) in their SSCE results – WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB in not more than two sittings. Such grades should be from relevant subjects to their proposed courses.
2. 100 Level Applicants are not necessarily required to write JAMB UTME before they can apply for the DLC programme.
3. Applicants who participated in the 2024/2025 UTME examination and scored 180 can apply for the programme whether you chose them in JAMB or not. They will be considered for admission into the chosen 100-level courses.

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY TRAINING: Computer proficiency training and test will be conducted for all applicants.

Courses and Admission into 100 level with Four (4) Year Duration 

1. Accounting
2. Marketing
3. Agricultural Economics
4. Agricultural Extension and Rural Development
5. Computer Science
6. Nursing Science

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Accounting and B.Sc Marketing

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two other relevant subjects. Commerce may be acceptable in lieu of Economics for BSC Accounting and Marketing

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Computer Science

Applicants must possess at least (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry

Admission Requirements for BN.Sc. Nursing Science

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO at not more than two sittings in relevant subjects. In addition, applicants should possess a Registered Nurse Certificate (RN) or its equivalent. credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Agricultural Economics

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Agricultural Science/Biology, Chemistry, and any other subjects from the course of the sciences. Candidate must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Agricultural Science/Biology, Chemistry and any other subjects from sciences course.

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Agricultural Extension and Rural Development

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Agricultural Science/Biology, Chemistry and any other subjects from the course of the sciences. Candidate must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Agricultural Science/Biology, Chemistry and any other subjects from sciences course

Courses and Admission into 200 level with Three (3) Year Duration 

1. Accounting
2. Marketing
3. Computer Science
4. Agricultural Economics
5. Agricultural Extension and Rural Development

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Accounting and B.Sc. Marketing

1. Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from recognized polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit in Accounting/Marketing with relevant professional qualifications may be considered.
2. Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized polytechnic with a pass in Accounting/Marketing or other related disciplines may also be considered
3. Good credit passes in “A” Level certificate (JUPEB, IJMB, NABTEB, Cambridge) in relevant subjects may also be considered.

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Computer Science

1. Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from a recognized polytechnic with a minimum of Upper Credit in Computer Science Engineering/Technology or any other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
2. Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from recognized polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology with relevant professional qualifications may be considered.
3. Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized polytechnics with Pass in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology or other relevant disciplines may also be considered.

Courses and Admission into 300 level Two (2) Year Duration

1. Accounting
2. Marketing
3. Computer Science

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Accounting and B.Sc. Marketing

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit in Accounting/Marketing or other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
2. Third class degree in Accounting/Marketing.
3. Candidates in every category above must possess at least five (5) Credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings in ‘O’ level subjects

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Computer Science

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized Polytechnics with a Minimum of Lower Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology or any other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
2. Third Class degree in Computer Science
3. Candidates in every category above must obtain Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NABTEB, and or NECO 

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Agricultural Economics

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized Polytechnics with a Minimum of Lower Credit in B.Sc. Agricultural Economics or any other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
2. Third Class degree in B.Sc. Agricultural Economics
3. Candidates in every category above must obtain Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NABTEB, and or NECO

Admission Requirements for B.Sc. Agricultural Extension and Rural Development

1. Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized Polytechnics with a Minimum of Lower Credit in B.Sc. Agricultural Economics or any other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
2. Third Class degree in B.Sc. Agricultural Economics
3. Candidates in every category above must obtain Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NABTEB, and or NECO

LAUTECH DLC Method of Application and Payment

1. Application forms are available online on payment of the application fee of ₦15,000.00 and the transaction fee of ₦300.00 only.
2. Candidates are expected to register on the Centre’s website; lodlc.lautech.edu.ng by completing and submitting the online application form.
3. In completing the online application form, candidates are required to upload a scanned passport photograph with white background showing ears, no cap, and no glasses. The scanned passport photograph must be in JPEG format (i.e. jpg) and must not be more than 20kb. On submission of the application form, candidates are to print out Referee Form
