How DE Applicants Can Correct Errors in Matric/JAMB Reg. Number

It’s not unusual to find Direct Entry applicants seeing mistakes in their Matric or JAMB registration number after they'd complete JAMB DE registration.

Though it's your duty to watch out for errors in that application before the form was finally submitted. But when such happens, the next thing is the solution.

If you find yourself in this situation, what’s expected of you? What can you do to change or correct the details?

There is a solution. And before you beat yourself up for this, you’re not the only one in the mess. In fact, a candidate had recently sought the way-out from JAMB.

This post is a comprehensive version of the short answer given by the JAMB Twitter handler.

Steps to Take If You Find Errors in Your DE Registration

  1. If there was a mistake in the names, email, phone number, gender, state or local government, follow the guide here.
  2. If there was a mistake in the choice of courses or institutions, follow the guide here.
  3. If the error was in the matric number or JAMB registration number written, follow the steps below:
  1. Visit the nearest CBT Centre. You don’t necessarily need to go back to where you registered. Any CBT centre can handle that correction for you.
  2. The correction may cost you. The CBT centre decides its price. You can drop feedback in the comment section to this post to give us the price that the CBT centre charges you.
  3. This correction can be done immediately and you can wait till JAMB registration closes. In other words, you can correct it anytime before your school starts admission processes for the year - especially if you noticed late.
