CRESCENT UNIVERSITY POST UTME/DE FORM, TRANSFER STUDENTS ADMISSION PROCEDURES FOR 2023/2024

Background: Crescent University, Abeokuta

Crescent University is an Islamic, non-sectarian and co-educational institution.

Standing for scholarship, service, and character, Crescent is the pioneer Islamic University in Nigerian and was established in 2005. With a mission to develop world-class human resources to meet global development challenges; the university offers courses in Business, Banking, Accounting, Economics and Actuarial Sciences, Mass Communication, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Political Science as well as Information and Communication Technology.

Through our research center, our faculty members are involved in studies that support policy making for national development often in collaboration with renowned international institutions.

There are currently a number of Nigerian and international institutions that hold affiliations with Crescent University. As a leader in tertiary education, we plan to establish several link agreements with universities in Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia and North America for students, faculty and staff exchanges as well as collaborative research.

Crescent University General Admission Requirements

University Matriculation Examination (UTME)

  1. Credits at SSCE, GCE, NECO or approved equivalent in at least 5 subjects which must include English Language and Mathematics and any other three subjects as may be specified by each Department.
  2. The 5 credits should be obtained in not more than two sittings and must have been obtained within the last 5 years.
  3. Candidates awaiting results may apply.
  4. All applicants will be required to go through Crescent University’s Screening Exercise without which a candidate will not be offered admission into the University.
  5. Admission through JAMB will be offered to candidates who have taken Crescent University as their choice and have acceptable score in the University Matriculation Examination (UTME). In addition, such candidates will be required to obtain the University’s application form and pass the oral interview that shall be conducted as a prerequisite for admission.
  6. All applicants are required to obtain JAMB forms as well as Crescent University application form before they can qualify for the Screening exercise.
    Interested candidates who have applied to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for admission and wish to change their first choice to Crescent University are required to:
    • Apply for change of institution through JAMB.
    • Obtain the CRESCENT UNIVERSITY, ABEOKUTA application form.
    • Participate in the screening exercise.


Direct Entry (Admission to 200 Level)

  1. NCE, OND and their approved equivalents in relevant field and at least the Upper Credit level in addition to O/L requirements stated above.
  2. Two Advanced Level passes or its equivalents in relevant subjects in addition to O/L requirements stated above.
  3. The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) at acceptable grade levels;
  4. In exceptional cases, holders of OND with lower credit from recognized institutions may be admitted to 200 level (part II) in relevant degree programmes, Provided they satisfy the minimum requirements stipulated for entry into 100 level.
  5. HND with lower credit from recognized institutions may be admitted into 200 level in the relevant degree programmes provided they satisfy the minimum requirements stipulated for entry in 100 level.
  6. Pass interview conducted by the University.

Transfer Candidates

Candidates will be allowed to transfer from other Universities to Crescent University, provided they:
  1. Pass interview conducted by the University.
  2. Purchase or complete the prescribed application form obtainable from the Registrar’s office, Crescent University.
  3. Hold the minimum entry requirements for admission into the University.
  4. Ensure that transcripts of their academic records and special confidential report on them (are forwarded by appropriate officials of their current institution) are received in the Admissions office of Crescent University not later than two months before the commencement of the intended session for which admission is being sought.
  5. Have C.G.P.A. of not less than 1.5.

Crescent University Admission Requirements for the Colleges

In addition to satisfying the general requirements for entry into the University, candidates must satisfy the requirements prescribed by the colleges for each department as follows:
Specific Admission Requirements.

Department of Computer Science
A credit in O/L Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is required. Further Mathematics is Optional.
For combined Honours Degrees, a credit in the Second discipline is required.

UME Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.

Department of Information and Communication Technology
A Credit in O/L Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is required. Further Mathematics is optional.

UME Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
Note: Students who have passed the Pre-degree examinations and also satisfy the general requirements for admission to all the departments in the College are also eligible for admission.

Department of Biological Sciences
(O/L) or NECO or equivalent with credit passes in five (5) subjects, which must include; English Language, Biology, or Agricultural Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics at not more than two (2) sittings.

UME Subjects: English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Mathematics and either Economics and Accounting or Commerce.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Chemical Sciences
GCE “O” level of WASSCE or NECO or equivalent at not more than two sittings that include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Agricultural Science.

UME Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Mathematics and either Economics and Accounting or Commerce.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Mathematical Sciences
GCE “O” level of WASSCE or NECO or equivalent at not more than two sittings that include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Agricultural Science.

UME Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry/Biology/Physics

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Mathematics and either Economics and Accounting or Commerce.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Physical Sciences
GCE “O” level of WASSCE or NECO or equivalent at not more than two sittings that include: English Language, Mathematics, and any other three including Physics and Chemistry.

UME Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Mathematics and either Economics and Accounting or Commerce.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Accounting
A credit in O/L Commerce or Economics is required.

UME Subjects: English Language, Economics, Mathematics, Geography/Commerce

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Mathematics and either Economics and Accounting or Commerce.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Business and Finance
A credit in O/L Commerce or Economics is required.

UME Subjects: English Language, Economics, Mathematics, Geography/Commerce /Government

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Mathematics and either Economics or Accounting.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Economics and Agriculture
A credit in O/L Commerce or Economics is required.

UME Subjects: English Language, Economics, Mathematics, Geography / Commerce /Government

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Mathematics and either Economics or Accounting.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Mass Communication and Social Sciences
Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credits in relevant subjects at the ‘O’ Level (SSCE, GCE, NECO) at a maximum of 2 sittings which must include:

UME Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Literature-in-English (added advantage)

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Government or History, Literature-in-English.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

Department of Political Science and International Relations
A credit in O/L Government or History is required.

UME Subjects: English Language, Government, History, Social Science, Arts

Direct Entry
a. NCE, OND and approved equivalents of at least upper credit in relevant fields.
b. Two A/L passes to include Government or History.
c. IJMB at acceptable grade levels.

  2. Choose Undergraduate 2023/2024 in the list of "Choose Admission Application Type"
  3. Complete your creating your account.
  4. Then, proceed to complete your registration
