Admission Requirements For Estate Management in Nigeria

If you choose to consider Estate Management in JAMB UTME/DE or while changing institutions/courses, you'll want to know what the admission requirements are.

With this, you want answers to three questions depending on your own concerns. As a UTME candidate, you want to know:

  1. The JAMB subject combination for Estate Management and
  2. SSCE (O'level) subject requirement for it.

As Direct Entry (DE) applicant, you want to know, aside from the O'level requirements, which concern you too, what the A'level, NCE, ND, HND, or BSC required for Estate Management.

In this post, using the official JAMB brochure, I'll be giving you the official admission requirements for ALL universities that are offering Estate Management.

First, The General JAMB Requirement for Estate Management

According to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), candidates seeking admission into Estate Management must have the following.

  1. Direct Entry (DE) Applicants: Two (2) A LEVEL passes in Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Biology, and Physics
  2. SSCE/DE Applicants: Five (5) SSC credit passes including Chemistry, Mathematics, and English Language.
  3. JAMB subject Combination: English, Mathematics, Economics, and one other subject

With the stated conditions above, if a student should follow, the university proposed should admit him or her provided you meet other admission conditions.

Second, The Specific Requirement By A Few Universities Offering Estate Management

To prove this further and show you any difference in what each university may ask for, let's sample three of the universities - federal, state, and private. The sample universities DE, SSCE, and JAMB subjects are numbered 1, 2, and 3 respectively.

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Bauchi State accepts as follows.

  1. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Biology, and Physics.
  2. Five (5) SSCE credit passes including Chemistry, Mathematics, and English Language.
  3. English, Mathematics, Economics, and one other subject

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State accepts as follows.

  1. Higher School Certificate (HSC)/GCE 'A' Level in two relevant subjects; OND and HND in Estate Management or Allied profession or professional certificate may be assessed and placed appropriately. Applicants may take remedial courses as may be recommended. Transferring from other universities would be treated on their own merits.
  2. Five (5) Credit in SSCE/GCE including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Commerce, Geography, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Technical Drawing
  3. English, Mathematics, Economics, and any one of Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agric/Biology, Government/History, and Technical Drawing

Maranatha University, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State accepts as follows.

  1. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Biology, and Physics.
  2. Five (5) SSCE credit passes including Chemistry, Mathematics, and English Language.
  3. English, Mathematics, Economics, and one other subject

Conclusion

While seeking admission into any university offering  Estate Management in Nigeria, like any other course, the JAMB official requirement should be your priority because most if not the universities will comply with that.

As you must have seen in the post and with the sampled universities, the primary requirements are still in accordance with that of JAMB.
