College of Nursing Katsina Form (2022/2023): Portal, Price and Closing Date

This is to inform the general public especially interested and eligible candidates that the entry/admission forms into the college academic programmes are now on sale.

Checking the application portal will let you know the forms that are currently on sale as the college usually sell application forms for the following programmes:

  1. ND/HND Nursing
  2. Community Nursing
  3. Post Basic Nursing
  4. Refresher Basic Nursing
  5. Foundation Year Programme (FYP)

This post will be centred on the ND/HND Nursing programme.

Background of ND/HND Nursing at College of Nursing and Midwifery Katsina

  1. The ND/HND Nursing is a four-year UNINTERRUPTED programme i.e 2 years for ND and 2 years for HND. Students start with the ND Nursing programme which is a non-terminal programme. 
  2. Stipend for SCWE shall be paid through Industrial Training Fund (ITF). The SCWE shall be graded on a pass or fail basis. Where a student has satisfied all other requirements of the programme BUT FAILED SCWEs, he/she may only be allowed to repeat another four months SCWEs at his/her own expense.
  3. Students shall participate in Supervised Clinical Work Experience (SCWE) during the programme. The SCWEs would be in two parts of eight weeks each. The first part of SCWE shall be between the end of ND I, while the second part shall be between the end of ND II. 
  4. Indexing shall be at the beginning of the first semester of ND II.
  5. The ND Nursing graduates with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (Lower Credit) will then proceed for HND Nursing.
  6. Proceeding to HND in the college is automatic but only if students earn a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (Lower Credit). Where a student scores below a CGPA of 2.5, he/she shall be required to repeat ND II and earn a minimum of CGPA 2.5 before proceeding to HND Nursing.
  7. Nursing Council’s Professional Exam for General Nursing shall be after successful completion of HND 1 Nursing. However, graduates of the HND Nursing programme are required to sit for the Council’s professional exam in either of the two options of specialization, namely: Midwifery for registration and licensing as Registered Midwife (RM) and Public Health Nursing for registration and licensing as Registered Public Health Nurse (RPHN).
  8. HND graduates shall proceed for one-year mandatory Supervised Clinical Experience (Attachment) in approved health facilities or institutions and after successful completion of the one-year mandatory supervised clinical attachment, graduates shall be mobilized for a one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

College of Nursing and Midwifery Katsina ND/HND Admission Requirments and Eligibility

  1. All applicants MUST have at least five credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry at not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC, NECO and/or NABTEB.
  2. Candidates seeking admissions for ND/HND programme must have obtained JAMB UTME and considered the college as the first or second choice institution. However, candidates that did not choose the College during JAMB registration and now wish to, can apply for Change of Institutions through the JAMB Portal and choose it as their First or Second Choice.
  3. JAMB subject combinations for ND Nursing are the Use of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Any combination apart from the above, will not be considered no matter the JAMB score.
  4. Minimum cut-off marks are usually determined after every JAMB exam for each category of institutions during the JAMB Policy Meeting on Admission. The minimum cutoff marks for ND Nursing is the same as the national minimum cutoff marks for Polytechnics. However, the College may the decision to increase its cutoff marks.
  5. All programmes are Full Time. Applicants working in any organization should have a release letter.
  6. All programmes have their period of application. Applicants can ONLY apply to a programme during its period of application.
  7. Applicants for Basic Midwifery MUST be female.
  8. Applicants for Community Midwifery MUST be a female Indigene of Katsina State and resident of her community in Katsina State.
  9. Applicants for Post Basic Nursing MUST be Registered Midwives.
  10. Applicants for Refresher Nursing and Refresher Midwi

College of Nursing and Midwifery Katsina Method of Application and Payment

  1. Visit the college admission portal or click
  2. At the top header, click on "Apply Online".
  3. The website will direct you to the Application Portal
  4. Click on "Application Instruction", to read the Instruction and Application Guidelines for the online application.
  5. Click on "Start Application" to create an account.
  6. A dialogue box will appear, click OK.
  7. Enter your Password, Firstname, Surname, Other names (if any), GSM Number, email and choose the programme by clicking on "Select Programme Option".
  8. Click on the line under "Solve the Maths" and type the answer.
  9. Click on "Create Account".
  10. Your account will be created successfully and your details will be sent to your email address and will also appear on your computer screen.
  11. After account creation, Click on the button called "Click to Continue"
  12. You will be returned to the Continue Application page, enter your email and password and click on the Login
  13. At the top left, click on "Pay Application Fee".
  14. Click on "Proceed to Make Payment"
  15. A Dialogue Box will appear, click on OK
  16. Click on "Proceed to Pay"
  17. A Dialogue Box will appear, click on OK
  18. Click on the Payment Mode you want ("PAY NOW WITH ATM CARD" or "Print Payment Slip and Pay in Designated Bank Branch")
  19. If you choose "Print Payment Slip and Pay in Designated Bank Branch", print the payment transaction and take it to any bank nationwide.
  20. If you choose "PAY NOW WITH ATM CARD", you will be directed to the Remita page, supply the necessary details and make your payment.
  21. If paid through Remita, you will be directed to the "Continue Application" page, Go to Step 3 of this section.
  22. If paid at a bank, visit the application portal and click on "Continue Application".
  23. Enter your Email and Password and click on Login
  24. At the top left, click on Home, then Biodata and supply your details on each field
  25. Click on Upload your passport and upload your recent passport photograph. The passport photograph size should NOT be more than 100KB.
  26. Click on Update Profile
  27. At the top left, Click on O-Level and enter your Senior Secondary School Name, Centre Number, Exam Number, Certificate Obtained (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), From Date and To Date(Note: Primary and Junior Secondary Schools details are not needed). Then click on Add School.
  28. If you are using two results, enter the details of the second result as you did in Step above.
  29. Click on Next
  30. Enter your Subject, Exam and Grade and click on "Add Result". REPEAT this step until you add all 5 subjects. NOTE: At this stage, you will only see the 5 subjects required and the acceptable grades. If you are using 2 results, when you select the subject, select the Exam Type that you have credit on it and select the grade.
  31. After entering the 5 main subjects, Click on "You can Add More Subjects" to add more subjects (optional)
  32. Click on Next
  33. Click on the field for "Select Certificate to Upload" and select STATEMENT OF RESULTS/CERTIFICATES. Then Click on "Choose File" and choose the file to upload from its location. Then Click on "Upload Certificates". If you are using 2 results, REPEAT this step and upload the other one, else go to the next step. NOTE: Attached ONLY a scanned copy of your Statement of Results/Certificate(s). Statement of Results/Certificates file size should NOT be more than 300KB.
  34. Click onNext
  35. A preview of the information you entered will be displayed. If there is something you wrongly entered and you want to edit, go to the top left and click on the section where the information is and edit it. But if you are satisfied with the information you entered, click on the small box under Declaration and click SUBMIT APPLICATION. NOTE: The application cannot be edited after submission.
  36. Print your Completed Application Forms, Acknowledgement Card and Payment Receipt. Ensure that you and your guardian sign the Completed Application Form and write the date of signing.
  37. To print your Payment Receipt, at the top left, Click on Transaction History and click on the item under Session TID, then print it.
