Universities Accepting NCE Holders for DE Biochemistry

It is usually more convenient to seek admission for an education course, in universities, if you're an NCE holder than chasing a non-education. Once you hold a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), the best chase while obtaining the JAMB Direct Entry form is an education course. 

This is because you've already undergone the background studies - hence, well prepared for the same or related courses.

However, you should be able to chase a few other non-education courses, Biochmetry inclusive.

Biochemistry is not an education course. Yet, an NCE holder can be admitted to the universities listed in this post if he obtains Direct Entry and chases the course.

General Direct Entry Admission Requirements for Biochemistry

NCE holders seeking admission into Biochemistry must:

1. have completed the NCE course or awaiting the certificate before proceeding with direct entry admission\
2. have obtained the NCE from the same or related course to Biochemistry
3. obtain a competitive grade in the NCE to have an edge over those with lower grades (though some universities still consider Merit)
4. possess at least 5 credit passes in relevant SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, and GCE) subjects for Biochemistry in not more than two sittings.
5. obtain the JAMB DE direct entry form and consider the most favorite university as the first choice
6. obtain the post-DE/screening of the proposed university and take part in the exams, online screening, or physical screening (whichever is applicable to your university of choice)
7. send his or her academic transcript to the university proposed (if requested) after obtaining the DE form and registering for the post-DE of the proposed university

1. University of Benin (UNIBEN) Benin City, Edo State accepts NCE credit in Biology or Chemistry.
2. Benson Idahosa University (BIU) Benin City, Edo State accepts NCE in relevant programs/subjects.
3. Crescent University, Abeokuta (CUAB) Ogun State accepts NCE and may be admitted to the appropriate level.
4. Bowen University Iwo, Osun State accepts NCE equivalent in Chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics.
5. Western Delta University Oghara, Delta State (Distance Learning) accepts NCE credit in Biology or Chemistry.
6. Rhema University, Aba Abia State accepts NCE in Biology/Chemistry.
7. Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi Benue State accepts NCE in Science/Technology would be considered in addition to the SSCE requirements.
8. Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Ogun State accepts NCE credit in Biology or Chemistry.
9. Umaru Musa Yar'adua University Katsina (UMYUK), Katsina State accepts NCE candidates with  Chemistry and Biology.
10. Nile University Abuja accepts NCE merit in relevant subjects/programmes.
11. Kings University Ode Omu, Osun State accepts NCE with good grades in relevant 'O' Level subjects.
12. Federal University, Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State accepts NCE with good grades and relevant 'O' level subjects.
13. Edo University, Iyamho (EUI), Edo State accepts NCE credit passes in related fields plus the SSCE requirement.
14. Federal University Gashua (FUGASHUA) Yobe State accepts OND/ND Upper credit. HND Lower and NCE Merit and above, IJMB 6 Points and above will be admitted into 200 Level. It also accepts three (3) 'A' Level passes chosen from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
15. Federal University Wukari (FUWUKARI) Wukari, Taraba State accepts merit pass at NCE at least in a relevant field. Candidate must also satisfy SSCE admission requirements in Five (5) Credits of relevant subjects including English and Mathematics.
16. Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA), Kogi State accepts In addition to SSCE Entry Requirement; NCE Credit pass in Chemistry and Biology.
17. Caritas University Amorji-Nike Enugu, Enugu State accepts NCE Lower credit in one (1) of Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Zoology.
18. Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State accepts NCE in related programs plus the SSCE requirements.
19. Kaduna State University is in Kaduna, Kaduna State accepts NCE in a related field.
