Can I Rewrite WAEC After Admission To a University, Polytechnic or College?

Any student who gains admission with a waiver or two in his or her ordinary level (SSCE) result grades can still rewrite the final exams to make up for that deficiencies.

Yes, you can.

As a matter of fact, if you mean repeating - by going back to the senior class and enrolling while still at the college, I don't think that's rational. Why will you want to be in a secondary school class while lectures are ongoing at the college?

But if you mean re-sitting for your ordinary level exams, the answer is YES.

Any student who gains admission with a waiver or two in his or her ordinary level (SSCE - WAEC, NECO, NATBEB, or NBAIS) result grades can still rewrite any of these final exams to make up for those deficiencies.

Another situation is if you aim to change your course or discipline in the future and that requires a new set of senior class subjects, you may re-sit for your WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB even though you’re already in a university, polytechnic, or college of education.

Re-sitting For O'level While in Higher Institution - Internal or GCE?

While trying to re-sit for your WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB, it may not be possible for you to use the internal (i.e. May/June diet). This is because most schools require candidates who will be writing the next internal exams to, at least, start from SS2.

Generally, candidates who will sit for the internal diet of these SSCE will also take part in the last promotion exams (if government schools) and/or continuous assessment (CA) tests (both government and private schools) which are usually required by the exams bodies. Hence, if you think you can just join them at SS3 and write the exams, you're out of the latest updates.

As a result of this limitation, your best bet, if you choose SSCE, is the exams for the private candidates i.e. WAEC GCE, NECO GCE, NABTEB GCE, or NBAIS GCE.

The exams are as well given the same recognition as the internal ones, of course. The results are accepted for admission to any university, polytechnic, college of education, school of nursing, college of health technology, etc.

    1. I don't why they will offer you admission if your course requires Economics. Perhaps, they won't need that subject to offer you the course. Go to school first. They may not be any complaint.
