This is a section designed to answer a series of questions you may want answers to about the Obafemi Awolowo University Pre-degree programme.

It should be noted that these questions are originally extracted from the school's portal to guide applicants to be.

1. Can I Register with Awaiting Result?

Provided that the result will be ready before the admission screening process into the pre-degree programme, awaiting results can be used to apply. You will be required to indicate if you have your five O'level results complete: Simply select NO if you are still awaiting some results, and change it back to YES once you have the result. No candidate without a complete O'level result will be allowed into the programme.

2. Which Bank will I get the Form from? 

Payments are made directly online, through the official portal using your ATM card.

3. What Registration Number will I use at the Bank?

You don't need any registration number to pay for pre-degree application. If the bank keeps insisting on it, you may want to try another bank or simply give them this number (+234(0)810 828 7293, +234(0)807 257 4603) so they can speak to us directly.

What is the Tuition Fee?
The fee for the new pre-degree session is not yet officially known. Candidates in the current pre-degree session paid a total sum of N187,500 and N222,500 by male and female students respectively which included accommodation. Information concerning the fees for the coming session will be made available online as soon as possible.

4. When is the Examination going to take place?

As application is still going on, the date of the examination is not yet fixed. Information about this will be made available online soon. You are also required to keep checking your account as all other information concerning the examination will be sent there.

5. What Subjects will I take During the Entrance Examination?

You will be tested according to your subject combination. If your combination is Mathematics/Geography/Economics (MGE), you will be examined in all three subjects. English language is compulsory for all. So, your examination will cover four subjects: English language and your chosen subject combination.

6. When will my Payment be Confirmed?

Your payment should be confirmed immediately you supply the correct numbers on the eTranzact page. The e-Tranzact receipt number and the confirmation order number are the numbers you need to confirm your payment. Please check all the numbers and make sure they are typed in correctly. If you were sent the numbers via text message, please confirm from the sender that the numbers are correctly typed. Make sure you use the correct values where required.

The Receipt number is about 14 digits long while the confirmation order number is about 22 digits long. Make sure you are not using "Receipt for" or "Teller No." instead of "Receipt No.".

If you still have difficulties confirming your payment, please call this line: +234(0)810 828 7293, +234(0)807 257 4603, or write to [email protected], stating your name, Receipt No, entrance exam no (if you have it).

7. I have Completed Filling the Form but it's still showing "Incomplete Registration

You most probably did not upload your passport properly. That is the incomplete part of your registration. Once your passport is properly uploaded, it will show on your page on the screen. Complete your registration by uploading your passport.

8. Can I change my Passport Photograph?

Once you register, you cannot edit some information anymore. However, if you inadvertently uploaded a wrong passport or wish to make some changes on the uploaded passport, please send the following to this address: [email protected]
  1. An identification document (eg ID card, international passport, driving license, or sworn affidavit. The document must contain the applicant's name as it should be, and must have a passport photograph on it.)
  2. A scanned copy of your e-Transact receipt
  3. A scanned recent passport photogragh
  4. Written detailed account of the error with all necessary information.

9. I made a mistake on my Name. Can I edit it?

Once you register, you cannot edit some information anymore. However, if you inadvertently mistyped a part of your name, please send the following to this address: [email protected]
  1. An identification document (eg ID card, international passport, driving license, or sworn affidavit. The document must contain the applicant's name as it should be, and must have a passport photograph on it.)
  2. A scanned copy of your e-Transact receipt
  3. A detailed account of the error made

10. I have Forgotten my Password and/or Username

Please check that:
  1. You clicked on "Pre-degree Login" and not "Applicant's Login" from the homepage.
  2. You typed in your username and password correctly; the way you did during creation of the account.
  3. The Caps Lock on your keyboard is off.

If you still can't log in, you can retrieve your password following these steps:
  1. From the home page, click on "Pre degree Login" (located under the quicklink on the right of the page)
  2. Click on "Forgotten your username or password?"
  3. In the following page, supply your email address in the appropriate field. The email address must be the one used during registration. (NB: Do not supply both username and email address. One is ok.)
  4. Go to your Inbox in your email address and open the mail we would have sent to you. Click on the link provided to confirm your request.
  5. Another mail will be sent into your e-mail account containing your username and your new temporal password.
  6. Now use the newly generated password to login into your account.
  7. On login, you will be mandated to change your password. (NB: Current password refers to the newly generated temporal password while New password refers to the password you want to change it to. Make sure it's something you will remember easily.)
  8. Please, keep your new password secure. 
  9. NB: These steps will only work if you supplied a correct and valid email address during your registration.

11. Can I change some of my Information?

You can update (change) the data on your form. To do this, simply login into your account, locate "Profile View" and click "Update your profile". Your form will be displayed and you will be able to edit it. Once you are done, click on update below the form.

Please note that you cannot change your name, username, email address and passport. Please call our helpline to speak with an officer (+234(0)810 828 7293, +234(0)807 257 4603) if there is a need to modify any of that.

11. How can I choose my Course of Study?

Filling of the preferred course of choice will only be undertaken by candidates who excel in the entrance examination and are offered admission. This means that this process is not required now until during registration into the programme for the admitted candidates.

12. My eTranzact Receipt has been used

Please scan your e-transact receipt and send it to us [email protected] so that we can verify your claims. Do include the username and the full name of the applicant and other relevant information in the mail.

13. What is the relevance of UTME to the Predegree programme?

Since UTME is a requirement for admission into Nigerian University as laid down by the Federal Government, It is mandatory that every student on the Pre-degree programme register.

No prospective candidates can gain admission into any tertiary institution without passing through JAMB. The only difference is that, you have a better chance of admission with Pre-Degree if you score up to 60% and above and at least 200 in UTME.
