According to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), candidates seeking admission into Linguistics must have the following.
- Direct Entry (DE) Applicants: Two (2) A'level passes or NCE to include any Language, preferably an African Language.
- SSCE/DE Applicants: Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language.
- JAMB Subject Combination: English, Any Language and two (2) other subjects.
Second, The Specific Requirement By A Few Universities Offering Linguistics
- Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or NCE to include any Language, preferably an African Language.
- Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language.
- Any Language and two (2) other subjects.
- Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or NCE to include any Language, preferably an African Language.
- Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language.
- Any Language and two (2) other subjects.
