Will FUNAAB Write Post UTME or Screening?

Before choosing the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) in your JAMB or when changing institutions, you may want to know, ahead, if the university will conduct post-UTME (entrance exams) for its aspirants or if they will use the screening method.

After filling out the online post-UTME forms for some candidates, they would get back to me to know their exam dates or when the exam schedules would be out. For those students, the university will conduct post-UTME. I've taken too many hours to explain things, That's why I must write this post to clear the air once and for all.

Here, we'll look into the method of admission the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) will use. Will it be post-UTME or screening? Let's ride!

FUNAAB Will Use Screening Method to Admit Students

In other words, the university will not conduct post-UTME or any form of entrance exams. There is no denying that, if you're asking someone who had sought (or gained) admission into FUNAAB a few years ago, he would say they would conduct post-UTME.

Because then, the university would invite or schedule their aspirants for the entrance exam (post-UTME). Hence, they would write the exams and be admitted based on that together with their JAMB scores and SSCE results.

However, starting from the 2021 admission year, the university has been consistently admitting students using the screening method. With this, students won't be scheduled for any exams. They're to fill out the form online and await admission updates on their admission portal.

How FUNAAB Will Conduct The Screening

1. First, the management will announce on the official website the sale of its admission form. Candidates, strictly those who chose the university as their first choice, will be required to obtain the form.
2. After this, if they've not done so earlier, candidates are to upload their O'level results to the JAMB portal
3. After this, the management will update students on their admission status right on the school portal. 
4. Then, the same admission notice will be made available on the JAMB portal for their students to accept, and print their JAMB admission letters
5. After this, the university will activate the students' admission portal for the payment of the acceptance fee. You're to pay, and print the admission letter and receipts before you'll proceed to the university campus for physical documentation. Then, the freshers' bio-data registration.

Will FUNAAB Send an SMS or Email to Inform You Of the Admission Offer?

Well, the university might not necessarily send any SMS or email to let you know that you've been offered admission. The school will usually display the shortlisting status on your portal directly.

However, JAMB can send SMS or Email.

Experience has shown that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) can be so motherly to let you know, through SMS or email that FUNAAB, like any other institution, has offered you admission.

For instance, below is one of the students who received a JAMB email that FUNAAB has offered her admission. With this it means, the university has offered her admission both on the school and on the JAMB portal.

She will then have to log in to the JAMB portal, accept the offer, and print the JAMB admission letters and original JAMB results.
