UNILAG Institute of Maritime Studies (IMS) Admission Requirements and Eligibility

Eligible Persons:

1. All practitioners in Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (including warehouse operators, consolidators, expeditors, logistics service providers (such as insurance and banking services), freight operators in all modes of transport, cargo operators at terminals, Supply Chain Management practitioners, those involved with handling of dangerous goods etc.)
2. Those who wish to make a career in Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
3. Those in the transportation business wishing to specialize in international Haulage.
4. Professionals from other fields wishing to develop skills and competencies in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Management.
5. Those in the Oil and Gas industry involved in international cargo logistics.

Entry Requirements:

1. Professional Certificate in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain (Remedial Programme).   Duration: 6 months

Applicants must have the ability to read and write and have any of the following:

1. First School Leaving Certificate
2. Certificate of Experience from a reputable freight forwarding organization or West African School Certificate (WASC); General Certificate of Education (GCE) or equivalent.

2. International Diploma in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Management. Duration: 1 year

Applicants must possess any of the following:

1. Professional Certificate in Freight Forwarding and Supply Chain Management
2. Four O Level credits (WAEC, GCE, NECO) or its equivalent
3. An OND, HND, or degree in any field of study
4. Any relevant professional qualification such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), etc.

3. International Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management. (Duration: 1 year)

Applicants must possess the International Diploma in Freight Forwarding or its equivalent.

Commencement Date: Monday, 28th

UNILAG Institute of Maritime Studies (IMS) Method of Application and Payment

Please apply through the University of Lagos admissions portal as highlighted below:

1. Visit the University of Lagos application portal: http://applications.unilag.edu.ng
2. Under application type, select IMS and complete the pre-application form to obtain a payment reference number (PRN)
3. Make payment at any commercial bank in Nigeria with the payment reference number (PRN)
4. Return to http://applications.unilag.edu.ng
5. Click on continue application.
6. Log in with the PRN and the applicant's surname, in lowercase, as a password.
7. Complete the application form and print out two copies for yourself.
8. Application Form: N15, 000:00 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) (Non-refundable).
