Since JAMB made this compulsory, candidates will be left with no other choice than to make use of the 11-digit number to begin their registration processes.
A student recently called to know if he could use his father's or mother's NIN and send that to 55019 in order to get the profile code that he would use to buy the PIN.
There is actually a need to ask this kind of question because a series of problems were lately reported.
- Some candidates have not been sent the profile no matter the number of times they sent the NIN to 55019. They will want to consider using another NIN to see if they're having issues due to their own NINs.
- Some candidates got error messages including "there is a problem with your NIN surname and other names.
- Some got errors claiming their national ID card passport was not available and several other complaints.
Well, this post will help you understand if it'll be possible to use another person's NIN to register for JAMB UTME/DE.

You Can't Use Another Candidate's NIN or Profile Code to Register
If you're thinking your friend's or brother's NIN didn't complain when he sent his own to 55019 and you think you should use his NIN or profile code for your own too, it won't work.
Of course, the system will report an error message that the NIN has been used for one registration already and that it won't be accepted for another candidate.
Hence, using an already-used NIN won't work for you. And even if it does, there is no need to try because ... (more on this in the next sections).
Similarly, you can't use the profile code generated by another candidate, whether already used or is about to be used for JAMB. Profile codes are attached to NINs. As such, if you can't use another person's NIN, you can't use another person's profile code too.

You Can't Use Your Parents or Relatives NINs to Register
Don't think since your mum or daddy doesn't need registration for UTME/DE, you can just use NINs to get your JAMB profile code.
The basics are that JAMB is using NINs to fetch individual candidates' data to register them for the exams/admissions.

For instance, below are a few details JAMB will fetch from the NIMC database if you use your NIN:
- Full names
- Date of Birth
- State and Local Government of Origin
- Address
- Gender and
- Passport Photo
Therefore, immediately you get to the JAMB accredited CBT center for your registration, all the attendant will do is to enter your JAMB profile code and all the information above will apprear for him.
He will only need to fill your institutions of choice and upload your results (where available) and submit them.
Hence, if you use another person's NIN, the person's data will be fetched for you. I'm sure you know the implication.
Conclusion
Be sure you use your personal NIN for the profile code and the purchase of the UTME/DE form. JAMB is tying your registration to your national ID card. So, no other person's details will be accepted as yours.

Use your own phone number or another phone number. It doesn't matter if you used the other phone number for your NIN or not. Just use another phone number and make sure it's your NIN you send.

ReplyDeleteYou're sending with errors, may be. Text as follows: NIN followed by a space and followed by your NIN e.g NIN 12345678998. Send to 55019. Don't put comma, no full stop, no any symbols and no more spaces. If the same happens, send message to NIMC following the guide in the post below.

Yes if you have sent it correctly. If after you retry it brings NO RECORD FOUND, send the email again until they attend to yours.

ReplyDeleteNo. You're already tied to the email and profile. There is no other way. You can't use a new line to register JAMB. You will need the same phone number, the same profile code and the same NIN

ReplyDeleteRegularization will use the names on your NIN. If you want it three, correct that at NIMC first. Allow it to be updated fully on their database before you apply for regularization

First, change any error on your NIN. After that, wait for the corrections to reflect before you can obtain JAMB form with that.
