BABCOCK UNIVERSITY ILISHAN-REMO, OGUN STATE UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Babcock University (BU), for 4, 5, or 6-year Degree Courses for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Backcock University General Admission Requirements

1. Minimum qualification for the First Degree Programs: 5 credits at the GCE/SSCE/NECO Examinations or their equivalent (at not more than 2 sittings); one sitting only for Medicine & Surgery.  Candidates below 16 years of age are advised not to apply.
2. CANDIDATES AWAITING 2023 WAEC/NECO/SSCE RESULTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRESENT ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS BEFORE MATRICULATION. 
3. All candidates who APPLY to Babcock University are REQUIRED to sit for the current JAMB examination (for 100 Level) or apply for JAMB Direct Entry admissions (for Direct Entry).
4. Candidates applying for Transfer Admissions need to present a JAMB Admission letter, Transcript and Attestation Letter from the previous University. 

Admission Requirements According to Courses/Departments

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION & HUMANITIES

1. Department of History and International Studies Degree Offered:  B.A. (Hons.) History & International Studies. Requirements: 5 credits in GCE/SSCE/NECO including English Language, History/Government and any other 3 subjects.
2. Department of Languages and Literary Studies Degrees Offered: 1.) B.A. (Hons.) English Studies 2.) B.A. (Hons.) French Studies. Requirements: For 1.)  and 2.) above, 5 credits in English Language, Literature in English and any other three subjects. For 2.) above, a credit pass in French may be considered in place of Literature in English. 
3. Department of Religious Studies Degrees Offered: B.A. (Hons.) Christian Religious Studies. [1] B.A. (Hons) Religious Studies [2] Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, CRK and any other 3 subjects for [1] and CRS or IRS for [2] above. A pass in Mathematics is required for each of the programs. 
4. Department of Education Degree Offered:  B.Sc. (Ed) Hons  1. Business Education  2. Economics Education, B.Ed. (Hons) 3. Educational Planning & Administration, 4. Guidance and Counselling Psychology B.A. (Ed.) Hons.), 5. English Education. Requirements: For Nos 1and 2 above, 5 credits in English Language and Mathematics and any other 3 social sciences. For Nos 3 and 4 above, 5 credits in English Language and any 4 other subjects. For No 5 above, 5 credits in English Language, Literature in English and any 3 other subjects. Direct Entry: In addition, holders of NCE, OND, HND or equivalent can apply for Direct Entry. Applicants should also have O’ Level credits as highlighted above or Grade II with passes at merit level in 5 subjects.  
5. Department of Music and Creative Arts Degree Offered:  B.A. (Hons.) Music. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, and any other four subjects.  Direct Entry: In addition, holders of NCE, OND, HND in Music or its equivalent can apply for Direct Entry. Applicants should also have 5 credits including English Language or Grade II with passes at merit level in 5 subjects.

SCHOOL OF LAW & SECURITY STUDIES
Department of Law Degree Offered:  LLB.  (Hons) Law. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics and any other two social science subjects. Direct Entry: Advanced level or Higher School Certificate or Bachelor of Arts degree in any related course from an accredited University with second class lower division and above. Candidates must present their transcripts and O’ level results- as stated in the O’ level requirements above.

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES 

1. Department of Accounting Degree Offered: B.Sc. (Hons) Accounting. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two relevant subjects. Direct Entry: Holders of OND/HND/ACA/ACCA/ICMA/ATS in addition to 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at O’Level are eligible to apply for Direct Entry NOTE: A pass in Economics may be considered provided the candidate has a credit in Accounting or Commerce. One Year Professional Training: All BSc Accounting students may after completion enroll for one year into the professional class to sit for ACA/ACCA/CITN/CIMA Certification Examinations. Such students should have been processed for exemptions under MOU with various professional bodies after their BSc Certification at the end of the fourth year. Internship: All ACCA registered students will be attached to some designated companies for practical experience during long holidays from 100 Level to 400 Level as part of the MOU with ACCA. In a situation where we have insufficient places for our students, students will be given letters to companies of their choice for attachment.
2. Department of Banking & Finance Degrees Offered: B.Sc. (Hons.) Banking & Finance Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects. Direct Entry: In addition to the 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at O’level, OND holders in Banking & Finance are eligible to apply.
3. Department of Business Administration & Marketing Degrees Offered:  B.Sc. (Hons.)Business Administration B.Sc. (Hons.) Marketing. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects. NOTE: A pass in Economics may be considered provided the candidate has a credit in Commerce or Business Methods.

VERONICA ADELEKE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES 

1. Department of Economics Degree Offered: B.Sc. (Hons.) Economics. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two relevant Social Science subjects. 
2. Department of Mass Communication Degree Offered: B.Sc. (Hons) Mass Communication. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English and any other two subjects 
3. Department of Political Science and Public Administration Degrees Offered: B.Sc. (Hons) Political Science B.Sc. (Hons) Political Science with the options in International Law & Diplomacy B.Sc. (Hons) Public Administration. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, History or Government, any other 3 Social Science subjects with at least, a pass in Mathematics. 
4. Department of Social Work  Degree offered: BSW (Hons) Social Work. Requirements: 5 credits including English Language, Biology and any other 3 subjects with at least, a pass in Mathematics. Direct Entry: Minimum of credit grades at GCE Advanced level (or its equivalence, Diplomas in Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, Behavioral Health technician or a Bachelor degree from other disciplines.

SCHOOL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY 

1. Department of Agriculture & Industrial Technology  Degree offered: B.Agric. (Hons) with options in 1.) Agric Economics  (5-year program) Requirements: 5 credits (at one or two sittings) in English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Economics with at least, a pass in Home Economics and Food & Nutrition. Direct Entry: HND with at least a lower credit pass in relevant disciplines. A minimum of pass in Mathematics is mandatory. Direct Entry: Holders of ND in relevant disciplines with five credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture and Geography or Economics
2. Agronomy & Landscape Design (5-year Program). Requirements: 5 credits (at one or two sittings) in English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Economics with at least, a pass in Home Economics and Food & Nutrition. Direct Entry: HND with at least a lower credit pass in relevant disciplines. A minimum of pass in Mathematics is mandatory. Direct Entry: Holders of ND in relevant disciplines with five credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture and Geography or Economics.
3. Animal Science. Requirement: 5 credits (at one or two sittings) in English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and Economics with at least, a pass in Home Economics and Food & Nutrition. Direct Entry: HND with at least a lower credit pass in relevant disciplines. A minimum of pass in Mathematics is mandatory. Direct Entry: Holders of ND in relevant disciplines with five credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture and Geography or Economics
4. Department of Basic Sciences Degree Offered: B.Sc. (Hons) Mathematics B.Sc. (Hons) Chemistry B.Sc. (Hons) Biology with options in 1.) Plant Biology 2.) Plant Genetics 3.) Plant Taxonomy 4.) Plant Pathology 5.) Parasitology 6.) Ecology 7.) Environmental Conservation 8.) Mycology B.Sc. (Hons) Physics with Electronics. Requirements: 5credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
5. Department of Microbiology Degrees Offered:  B.Sc. (Hons) Microbiology Requirements: 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

SCHOOL OF COMPUTING AND ENGINEERING SCIENCES     

1. Department of Computer Science Degrees Offered: a.) B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science b.) B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science (Technology) c.) B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science   (Information Systems) Requirements:  For a and b above, 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject. For c above, 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Economics and any other science subject. Department of Software Engineering Degree Offered: B.Sc. (Hons.) Software Engineering
2. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and 2 other Science subjects.
3. Department of Information Technology Degree Offered: BSc (Hons.) Information Technology. Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject.

COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND MEDICAL SCIENCES

1. BENJAMIN S. CARSON SCHOOL OF MEDICINE Degrees Offered: MBBS Medicine and Surgery (6-year Program) (5 years for Direct entry for degree holders in life sciences with one sitting at O’ level.). Requirement:  5 credits (in one sitting) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 
2. Department of Anatomy Degree Offered:  B.Sc. (Hons) Anatomy. Requirements: 5 Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. 
3. Department of Physiology Degree Offered:   B.Sc. (Hons) Physiology. Requirements: 5 Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
4. Department of Biochemistry  Degree Offered:  B.Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry Requirements: 5 Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. 
5. Department of Nutrition & Dietetics  Degree Offered: B Sc. (Hons) Nutrition and Dietetics Requirements: 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Food and Nutrition or any other subject with at least a pass in Physics/Geography, Direct Entry: In addition to the O’Level requirements, OND holders in Home Economics, Food Nutrition or in other relevant disciplines can apply for direct entry. 

SCHOOL OF PUBLIC AND ALLIED HEALTH

1. Department of Public Health Degrees Offered:  B.Sc. (Hons) Public Health. Requirements: 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other Social or Science subject for Public Health.
2. Department of Medical Laboratory Science Degree Offered: BMLS (Hons) Medical Laboratory Science. Requirements: 5 credits (not more than two sittings) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Direct Entry:  a.) In addition to the 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at O’ level, candidates must have passed in GCE at Advance Level in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology).  b.) In addition to the 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at  O’level, graduates with at least a second class honour degree (lower division) in related disciplines are eligible to apply.  c.) In addition to the 5 credits in the subjects stipulated at O’level, Medical Laboratory Technician certificate holders are also eligible to apply.

  

SCHOOL OF NURSING SCIENCE

1. Department of Nursing Science Degree Offered:  BNSc. (Hons.) Nursing Science Requirements: Candidates seeking admission into the school of nursing science programme for bachelor of nursing sciences degree must satisfy the minimum university requirements for admission to the degree programme which includes an acceptable pass at the university Identity and Document Verification. They must in addition to the above, have minimum of credit (C) level passes at the senior secondary school certificate examination (SSCE) or its equivalent in five subjects, at not more than two sittings, which must include English language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Registered Nurses (RN) with credit level passes in the SSCE subject as listed above may be admitted by Direct  Entry into 200 level provided they satisfy other University admission requirements.

Babcock University Post UTME/DE Method of Application and Payment

1. Visit http://application2.babcock.edu.ng
2. A new Applicant: Create login details to obtain your Password
3. Log-in with your Username as your email address and password as sent to your email address
4. On the Left Panel do the following:

• Click to fill Form. Make sure you fill in all information requested.
• Click the button to save the form if you have filled in every piece of information.
• Upload your Passport Photograph according to the specified size, and JPG or PNG format.
• Select the Screening Centre and Date of Screening.

Payments

• Take the APPLICATION ID to the bank (Wema, Diamond, GTB, First Bank SkyBank, UBA). Tell the Teller you are paying for Babcock Application Fees. The fee is ₦2,000.00. The service charge is ₦350.00. Total ₦2,350.00.
• Once payment is done, then log in to the application system and Click Submit.
• Follow all instructions on the left menu, and be sure you print your completed Application Form.
