The proprietor of Wesley University, Ondo is the Methodist Church Nigeria. Methodist Church Nigeria was established in the Country in 1842 by the Methodist Society from Britain. While engaging in their main goal of evangelizing and converting the people, the Methodists recognized the need to train a number of people who could read the Bible and serve as assistants to the Missionaries. The Methodists, therefore, ventured into the education of the people and set up the first “Nursery of the Infant Church” in Badagry in 1843. This marked the first initiative at establishing schools in Nigeria.

Western Delta University (popularly referred to as WDU) is the brainchild of a group of Urhobo Scholars under the aegis of Urhobo Advancement Foundation (UAF) who saw the need for a privately financed university in the wetlands of Delta State of Nigeria.

Spiritan International School of Theology, Attakwu, Enugu, Enugu State and Spiritan School of Philosophy, Isienu, Nsukka, Enugu State which are affiliated to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and are offering NUC accredited degree programmes, the Holy Ghost Congregation, Province of Nigeria, South East, under the leadership of Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Peter Chukwuemeka Agbonome, CSSp, decided to establish a University. That was how the idea of the University was mooted and eventually founded.

70. Precious Cornerstone University

The Prestigious University was initiated and promoted by the Founder and Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Francis Wale Oke with several Founding members including the Governing Council of the university.

After a long awaited period of time for approval, the university was licensed to operate in the year 2017.  It is the belief of the University that the knowledge which upgrades human qualities, faculties and professional skills has the power to greatly impact on human welfare.

71. PAMO University of Medical Sciences

PAMO University of Medical Sciences is a citadel of excellence in the delivery of tertiary education in the medical and health sciences in Nigeria.
