General SSCE/O'level Results Required For Public Administration
Five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language not Literature in English and Mathematics and any three (3) subjects of the following Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English Geography, Office Practice Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government Typewriting Shorthand.
However, some polytechnics may consider special conditions thereby accept certain subjects other than the ones listed above. Below is the list of the polytechnics and such terms.
- PLS-POLY requires 'O' Level credit pass in four (4) subjects, English Language and 'O' Level pass in Mathematics with any three (3) of Economics, Government/History, CRS/IS, Accounts, Commerce, Literature in English, Biology/Agricultural Science and Health Science.
- KAD-POLY, IMT-ENU, WOLEX and OSISATECH require 'O' Level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
- FEDPO-IDA accepts Commerce, Accounts, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics. CRS/IS as UTME subjects.
- IBD-POLY requires Government or History and any two (2) of Economics, Commerce, Geography and Mathematics as UTME subjects. IBD-POLY requires credit passes in English Language, Economics, Government and a pass in Mathematics.
- FEDPO-NEK accepts one (1) of the following Statistics, CRS, Information Communication Technology and any one (1) of Science subjects.
- KWAPOLY requires 'O' Level credit pass in one Basic Science subject as course requirement. It also accepts a credit pass in History.
- CABSP accepts Certificate Course of the College or from any recognised institution OR any other qualification recognised by the College Academic Board.
- FEDPO-AIU requires 'O' Level credit passes in Commerce, Accounts, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, CRS/IS and accepts a pass in Mathematics.
- FEDPO-BAU requires English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) subjects from Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History, Typewriting or Shorthand.
- IMO-POLY accepts only Biology or Agricultural Science. It does not accept History and Literature in English as course requirement for Public Administration.
- FIDEIPOLY requires five (5) credit passes in English Language, Economics, Government, Geography, Statistics, Accounts, Commerce, Economics, CRS, Information Communication Technology and History. 'O' Level in Mathematics is accepted.
- OKE-OGUN POLY requires credit passes in English Language, Economics, Government and a pass in Mathematics.
- SURE-POLY requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes in English Language, Economics, Government and any two (2) other subjects plus a pass in Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings.
- FEDPO-ILA requires 'O' Level credit passes in English Language(not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following: Economics/Commerce, Business Methods/Business Studies, Principles of Accounts/Book Keeping, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand, Civic Education, Financial Accounting, French, Statistics, Insurance, CRS/IRK, Marketing, Salesmanship, Store Keeping, Store Management, Computer Studies, Entrepreneurship Education, Social Studies and Home Economics/Home Management
- YABATECH requires five (5) O Level credit passes in at most 2 sittings of SSCE and NECO which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government and any two (2) subjects from the following: Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics/Commerce, Citizenship/Civic Education, Principles of Accounts.
General UTME Subject Combination For Public Administration
English, Government, History, and Economics
Whereas for some polytechnics, you may need a special combination of subjects other than the four listed above. Below is the list and their terms.
- FEDPONEK requires Mathematics and any of Geography, Literature in English as UTME subjects.
- KAD-POLY requires Government or History and any two (2) of Economics, Commerce, Principle of Account, Literature in English, Geography, Agricultural Science/Biology, CRS/IS, Literature in English, Mathematics.
- KOGI-POLY accepts either of the following combinations as UTME subjects i. Government/History/Economics ii. Government/Literature in English/Economic
- FEDPO-NAS accepts Government/History, Economics/Commerce, CRS/IS.
- IMT-ENU requires Literature in English and Christian Religious Studies, Principles of Account/Commerce.
- FEDPO-AIU requires Government/History, Economics/Commerce and Mathematics/CRS.
- YABATECH requires Mathematics, Government, and any one of Commerce/Economics, Principles of Accounts, Geography, Citizenship/ Civic Education.
- SURE-POLY requires Government, Economics and any other subject.
- FEDPO-ILA requires any three subjects from 'O' Level course requirements.
- FEDPO-BAU requires Government/History and any two (2) subjects from Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, Geography, Principles of Accounts, Marketing, Home Economics, Literature in English and CRS/IS.
