2024/2025 (2020B) LASU Special Oyo (SPED) Admission Exercise

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the under-listed Programmes in Lagos State University Sandwich Degree Programmes at Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo Centre.

Faculty of Education

B.Sc (ED), B.A. (ED) and B.ED; FOUR (4) and FIVE (5) YEARS SANDWICH DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN THE FOLLOWING COURSES:

1. B.Sc Education: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Physical and Health Education, Health Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science Education.
2. B.Sc. Education: Economics, Political Science, Geography, Business Education, Accounting Education.
3. B.A. Education: History, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, French, English, Yoruba, Arabic.
4. B.Ed: Early Childhood and Primary Education, Guidance and Counseling, Educational Management.

General Basic Requirements

• Mathematics and English are compulsory for all courses
• Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credits or TCII Merit Passes at not more than two (2) sittings with (2) of the subjects at ‘A’Level or NCE Merit Passes in relevant areas.
• A University/Polytechnic 2-year Diploma Certificate in the relevant areas obtained at not less than Merit level.

Specific Subject Area Requirements

1. English Major: Credit Passes in Literature in English and English Language at ‘O’ Level or its equivalent
2. Economics Major: Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, and Economics.
3. Physical and Health Education, Social Studies, Political Science Major:  At least a Credit Pass in English Language and Mathematics at ‘O’ Level or its equivalent.
4. Health EDUCATION Major: (i) A Credit Pass in English Language and Mathematics (ii) Holders of Staff Registered Nursing and Midwifery Certificates (iii) Diploma in Health Tech. plus 5 ‘O’level Credit Passes to include the English Language are also eligible.
5. Advanced Diploma in Sports from Nigerian Institute for Sports.
6. Mathematics and Science Major: Credit Pass in Mathematics and English Language.

NOTE

• ICAN (Skill level), Part II CIS or equivalent are acceptable for Economics
• Holders of Certificates issued by recognized Arabic institutions who may not have written Arabic at SSCE/GCE ‘O’ Level will be considered for admission subject to the fulfilment of other entry requirements, NCE (Arabic) at Merit Level is also acceptable.
• LASU may accept any Arts/Social Sciences subject in lieu of Yoruba
• Diploma in Health Education, Environmental Health, Physical Education, Social Work, Health Admin with overall grades of Merit plus three ‘O’ Level Credit/TCII Merit Passes which should include the English Language.

Course Duration

Five (4) Year Degree Programme
The Four (4) year Degree Programme is designed for candidates with NCE with Merit grades and above, or GCE ‘A’ Level with E grade and above.

Five (5) Year Degree Programme
The Five (5) year Degree Programme is designed for candidates with WASC/SSCE/TCII and NCE who fell short of entry qualifications for the Four (4) year Sandwich Degree Programme.

LASU Sandwich College Oyo Method of Application

Application Form is obtainable from Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo Website: www.lasusandwich.fcesoyo.edu.ng on the payment of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,300.00) only, through Online Inter switch payment gateway.
