In this post, I will be showing you the list of LASUSTECH's courses and SSCE subjects required. You will also be able to see where the university accepts D7, E8 or F9 for certain subjects among other things.
List of Courses Offered By Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) and Subject Requirements
- Agricultural Economics & Farm Management: For admission into any option of the B.Agric. programme, a candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). O ’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted provided that a candidate has at least a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. On special considerations, candidates with a pass in Physics may also be admitted.
- Crop Protection: For admission into any option of the B.Agric. programme, a candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). O ’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted provided that a candidate has at least a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. On special considerations, candidates with a pass in Physics may also be admitted.
- Agricultural Extension & Rural Development: For admission into any option of the B.Agric. programme, a candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). O ’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted provided that a candidate has at least a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. On special considerations, candidates with a pass in Physics may also be admitted.
- Horticulture and Landscape Management: For admission into any option of the B.Agric. programme, a candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). O ’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted provided that a candidate has at least a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. - Animal Production: For admission into any option of the B.Agric. programme, a candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). O ’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted provided that a candidate has at least a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. - Aqua Culture and Fisheries Management: For admission into any option of the B.Agric. programme, a candidate must have O’ level credit passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and an acceptable pass in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). O ’level pass (D7 or E8) in Biology may be accepted provided that a candidate has at least a credit pass in Agricultural Sciences. On special considerations, candidates with pass in Physics may also be admitted.
- Accounting: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- Actuarial Science: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- Economic Science: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- Mass Communication Science & Technology: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English and other arts and/or social science subjects.
- Banking & Finance: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- Insurance: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- Marketing: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- Office & Information Technology: At least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Physics to form the core subjects with credit in two other relevant subjects.
- Business Administration: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects.
- Computer Engineering & Technology: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Civil & Construction Engineering: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Electrical/Electronics: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Biotechnology & Food Technology: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Mechanical Engineering: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Mechatronics Engineering: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Agricultural Engineering: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Architecture: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry & either Geography, Fine Art, Wood Work, Tech. Drawing, Biology or Economics.
- Estate Management & Valuation: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry & either Geography, Fine Art, Wood Work, Tech. Drawing, Biology or Economics.
- Quantity Surveying: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry & either Geography, Fine Art, Wood Work, Tech. Drawing, Biology or Economics.
- Urban & Regional Planning: Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Geography & any other two subjects.
- Arts & Industrial Design: Five (5) credit passes at the WASCE, NECO, or GCE O’Level or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, any one (1) of Chemistry/Biology and any two (2) of the followings: Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing/Fine Art/Visual Art (will be an added advantage), Geography, Dye and Bleaching.
- Building Technology: Five credit passes at SSSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other one from Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Biology.
- Chemical Sciences: At least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to form the core subjects with credit in one other relevant science subject at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
- Physics with Electronics: At least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to form the core subjects with credit in one other relevant science subject at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
- Mathematical Sciences: At least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Physics to form the core subjects with credit in any other two relevant science subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
- Biological Sciences: At least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
- Computer Science: At least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to form the core subjects with credit in one other relevant science subject at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
