OAU Distance Learning (2024/2025): Courses, Portal, and Closing Date

Applications are now opened for OAU Distance Learning (DLC) BSC programmes in Accounting, Economics, and Nursing.

Duration of the Programmes

1. Accounting Year 1 – 5
2. Economics Year 1 – 5
3. Nursing Year 1 – 5

1. Bachelor of Science – Accounting Admission Requirements

Applicants for admission into the program should possess:

1. Ordinary level credits in five (5) subjects – English language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Government, Financial Accounting, Geography, Literature in English and Yoruba at not more than two sittings.
2. Candidates for the ‘O’ Level admission must have satisfied the National cut-off mark of 180 for UTME.

Direct Entry to part 2 (Four Years)

Direct Entry applicants should possess:

1. Five credit passes in the GCE (or equivalent)
2. A minimum of two (2) of these must be at the Advanced Level.
3. Ordinary level passes must include English Language, Economics, and Mathematics
4. Advanced Level passes shall include Economics or Accounting

NOTE: subjects are not counted at both levels of the examination. I.e. you cannot duplicate the same set of subjects passed at Ordinary for A level passes (with the exception of Economics).

OR One of the following certifications:

1. OND at Upper Credit Level in Accounting, or Banking and Finance
2. ATS-ICAN final stage certificate
3. The final stage of the association of Nigerian Accountants (ANAN),
4. The final stage of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS)
5. The final stage of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

Direct Entry to Part III (Three years)
Five (5) credit passes in O/L including Mathematics, English, and Economics AND any of the following certifications:

• HND in Accounting or Business Administration
• The final stage of the ICAN certificate (ACA)
• ACCA or CFA, ACIB, ANAN (Plus HND or BSc in any Discipline)
• HND in Banking and Finance.

2. Bachelor of Science – Economics Admission Requirements

Applicants should possess:

1. Ordinary level credits in five (5) subjects – Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and two arts or social science subjects.
2. Minimum of 180 UTME score
3. Direct Entry to Part II (Four Years)

Entry applicants should possess:

• Five credit passes in the GCE (or equivalent)
• A minimum of two (2) of these must be at the Advanced Level
• Ordinary level passes must include English Language, Economics and mathematics
• Advanced Level passes in Economics and one of (Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, and Government)

NOTE: subjects are not counted at both levels of the examination. I.e. you cannot duplicate the same set of subjects passed at Ordinary for Advanced level passes (with the exception of Economics).

OR

• Upper credit in statistics (OND)
• Ordinary level credits in five (5) subjects – Mathematics, English Language, Economics and two arts or social science subjects

3. Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc.) Admission Requirements

1. Applicants must be nurses registered by the Nursing and Midwifery, Council of Nigeria (RN/RPN/RM/RPHN, etc)
2. Applicants must possess ‘O’ Level Credit in five (5) subjects obtained at NO MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
3. Ordinary level passes must include the English Language,
4. Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry
5. Candidates shall be invited for written and oral Interviews.

OAU (Bsc) Distance Learning Method of Application and Payment

Application Form and Method of Application are available only ONLINE at (apply.oaucdl.edu.ng) on payment of a sum of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000 00) through Interswitch Webpay Payment platform using only Verve or Mastercard debit cards from ANY BANK nationwide.
