DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Two (2) A level passes in Economics and any one (1) of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Accounting, Business Management, History and Government.

SSCE (O'LEVEL) RESULT REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Arts or Social Science subjects.

JAMB UTME SUBJECT COMBINATION
Economics, Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography, Literature in English, French and Christian Religious Studies /Islamic Studies.

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS TO NOTE FOR ECONOMICS ADMISSION

DIRECT ENTRY:
(i) OAU accepts:
a. A level passes in Economics and any two (2) from Government, Geography, Mathematics and Statistics
b. ND/HND upper credit in Mathematics, Statistics.
(ii) COOU and ESUTECH accept ND with GPA not below 2.50 (on 4.0 scale) NCE, HND and First Degree.
(iii) UDU accepts ND credit in Business Studies and Statistics.
(iv) IBADAN accepts two (2) A level passes but O level credit passes should include Mathematics and Economics.
(v) EBSU and MAIDUGURI accept ND upper credit/HND upper credit in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
(vi) OOU accepts ND upper credit in Marketing, General Administration e.t.c. of OOU at least Lower Credit.
(vii) BAYERO does not accept Chemistry, Physics, and Agricultural Science and History.
(viii) UNIZIK accepts two (2) A level passes from Economics, Mathematics and Political Science. Direct Entry: Applicants must possess the UTME requirements.
(ix) UNN requires the UTME requirements.
(x) DELSU accepts NCE in Economics and one other Social Science subject.
(xi) EKSU accepts any of the following:
(a) Five (5) O level credit passes in Mathematics, Economics, English Language and two (2) other subjects one (1) of which must be from the Social Sciences.
(b) Two (2) A level passes in Economics and any of Geography, Government and Mathematics.
(xii) COVENANT accepts ND upper credit in Marketing, Business Administration or Banking and Finance.
(xiii) IGBINEDION accepts ND lower credit in Accounting, Business Administration/ Banking and Finance; NCE in Economics, Mathematics or any other Social Science subject.
(xiv) AL-HIKMAH accepts two (2) A level passes in Economics and any other relevant subject.
(xv) CUAB requires two (2) A level passes to include Mathematics and either Economics or Accounting. Accepts NCE/ND and approved equivalent of at least upper credit in relevant programmes and IJMB at acceptable levels
(xvi) JOS does not require O level credit pass in History and does not accept ND, HND and NCE as entry requirements.
(xvii) AAUA does not accept Physics, Chemistry or Agricultural Science but accepts ND upper credit and HND lower credit level in relevant programmes.
(xviii) UYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
(xix) AJAYI accepts A level or equivalents in Economics and one of Accounting, Business Management, Mathematics, Geography and Government.
(xx) BIU same as in Accounting
(xxi) UMUDIKE and BOWEN - Same as in Accountancy.
(xxii) UNIOSUN accepts ND upper credit and approved equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration and Banking and Finance.
(xxiii) AUN accepts:
a. A level passes chosen from Mathematics, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics, and French.
b. Does not accept O level credit passes in the following; Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Home Craft, Home management, Physical Education, Physical and Health Education, Music, Commerce, Accounting, Financial Accounting, Book Keeping, Islamic History, Religious Studies, Tajweed, Library Studies, Diction, Kiswahili, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Turkish, Study skills.
c. Accepts ICGSE and A level Cambridge and does not offer admissions direct to 200 level programs. May transfer credits relevant to its major at the discretion of the Dean of school.
(xxiv) CRAWFORD accepts:
a. Statistics.
b. NCE passes in Economics, Mathematics or any Social Science subject.
c. ND/HND in relevant subjects not lower than lower credit.
(xxv) WESTERN-DEL accepts two (2) A level passes in Economics and one other subject.
(xxvi) BELLS Same as in Accounting.
(xxvii) AUE accepts NCE upper merit or equivalent in relevant subjects in addition to the UTME requirements.
(xxviii) DELSU Requires two (2) A level passes in Economics and any one (1) of Geography, Government and Mathematics. Accepts ND upper credit in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Statistics and Banking/Finance. Accepts NCE in Economics.
(xxix) FED-OYE EKITI requires two (2) A level passes chosen from Economics, Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics.
(xxx) KWASU accepts IJMB Cambridge only.
(xxxi) RHEMA accepts ND in Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Accounting or NCE in Economics plus the UTME requirements.
(xxxii) FUNAAB requires A level passes in Economics and one (1) of Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Government plus the UTME requirements. Does not accept NCE.
(xxxiii) RENAISSANCE accepts NCE, ND/HND or First Degree plus five (5) credit passes at O level subjects other than those passed at A level.
(xxxiv) FED-OYE EKITI requires two (2) A level passes chosen from Economics, Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics.
(xxxv) BAYERO does not accept Chemistry, Physics, and Agricultural Science & History.
(xxxvi) NDU accepts:
a. Two (2) A level passes in Economics and any one (1) of the following: Geography, Statistics, History, Accounting, Business Management.
b. ND upper credit or NCE credit relevant to Economics combination.
(xxxvii) NTNU Same as in Accounting.
(xxxviii) CUAB Same as in Banking and Finance.
(xxxix) EBSU accepts HND, NCE and ND merit and upper credit respectively in relevant programmes.
(xl) UMYUK accepts IJMB with a minimum of nine (9) points in Economics and two (2) other Social Science or Management Science subjects or ND in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Purchasing and Supply Economics/Cooperative with lower credit. NCE in Economics and Mathematics with a minimum of nine (9) points.
(xli) SOUTHWESTERN accepts ND/HND or IJMB/NCE/ND/HND and any one (1) from Government, Geography, Further Mathematics, and Economics History or approved equivalent.
(xlii) ESUTECH- in addition to Direct Entry: requirements, requires three (3) additional O level credit passes in subjects other than those passed at A level.
(xliii) SOSU requires candidates to also satisfy O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
(xliv) LAGOS accepts:
a. very good passes in three (3) JUPEB/ A level subjects: Economics and any two (2) of Accounting, Geography, Mathematics, Government, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
b. two (2) Cambridge A level passes in Economics and any one (1) of the following: Accounting, Geography, Mathematics, Government, Physics and Biology.
(xlv) ABUJA accepts two (2) A level passes in Economics and any of Science, Social Sciences, Management subjects or History/Government or NCE minimum ten (10) points or ND with upper credit in relevant programmes in addition to the UTME requirements.
(xlvi) UNIKINGS accepts ND lower credit or NCE merit in relevant subjects.
(xlvii) MCPHERSON accepts:
a. ND upper credit in relevant programmes.
b. Foundation of professional examinations such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA& CIBN.
(xlvii) ODUDUWA accepts NCE merit in relevant subjects.
(xlix) CHRISTOPHER accepts two (2) A level passes including Economics and any of Sciences, Social Sciences, Management subjects or History/Government. HND, ND or NCE credit in the relevant subjects.
(l) ILORIN accepts ND in Administrative Management upper credit in addition to the UTME requirements.
(li) BELLS accepts two (2) A level passes in any two (2) of Economics, Mathematics and Geography/Government
a. ND with minimum of upper credit in a related programme as the case may be from recognised institution.
(lii) FED-DUTSINMA accepts:
a) Two (2) A level passes in Economics and Social Science
Subjects.
b) Two (2) A level passes in Economics and Arts, Social Sciences or Mathematics.
(liii) PLASU accepts:
a) degree in any programme provided the candidate meets
UTME requirements.
b) HND minimum of lower credit in relevant programme,
with UTME requirements.
c) ND lower credit in relevant programme, with UTME
requirements.
d) IJMB minimum of seven (7) points with passes in relevant
subjects plus UTME requirements.
e) PLASU does not accept university diplomas and other
diplomas not accredited by the relevant accrediting
bodies.
(liv) PAN-ATLANTIC accepts:
a) Two (2) A level passes in any relevant subjects.
b) OND/ND lower credit in relevant programmes.
c) NCE lower credit in relevant subjects.
d) HND lower credit in relevant programmes.
e) International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in relevant
subjects.
UTME:
(i) CALABAR does not accept Commerce.
(ii) OAU requires five (5) O level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography or Government and any from Civic Education/ History / Christian Religious Studies /Islamic Studies/Yoruba/ Literature/Chemistry/ Physics/ Biology/ Agricultural Science/Further Mathematics/ICT.
(iii) MAIDUGURI accepts O level pass in Mathematics, but such candidates will be required to pass a remedial course in Mathematics.
(iv) LAGOS accepts O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Arts, Social Sciences and Science subjects. Commerce is not accepted.
(v) IMSU - same as Marketing.
(vi) IBADAN requires five (5) O level credit passes to include Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
(vii) CUAB and BAYERO accept two (2) O level credit passes only in Social Sciences subjects.
(viii) PHC requires O level credit passes in Government, History or Geography.
(ix) BENIN accepts ND upper credit/HND lower credit in relevant subjects. Direct Entry: candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements.
(x) AAUA requires O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one (1) Social Science subject plus any other subject
(xi) EKSU requires five (5) O Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) other subjects, one of which must be a Social Science subject.
(xii) KSU requires any two (2) O level credit passes in any relevant subjects as the fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) subjects.
(xiii) UMUDIKE and CONVENAT - same as in Accounting
(xiv) UNIOSUN requires Five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Social Science subjects at one (1) sitting.
(xv) AUN requires five (5) O level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three (3) subjects from the following; Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics, and French.
(xvi) KASU requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Arts or Social Science subjects and one (1) Science subject.
(xvii) BELLS, GOUU and NTNU same as in Accountancy.
(xviii) PAUL requires five (5) O level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics and Economics.
(xix) REDEEMERS requires five (5) O Level credit passes to include English Language Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects in Arts or Social Sciences.
(xx) WESTERN-DEL requires five (5) O level passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one (1) other Social Science subject.
(xxi) NDU requires the five (5) O level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings.
(xxii) LAPAI requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Social Science subjects.
(xxiii) DELSU requires O level credit pass in one (1) of the other subjects from Commerce, Principles of Book Keeping and Accounts, Geography, Government and Secretarial Studies.
(xxiv) FED-OYE EKITI requires O level credit passes in the other two (2) subjects to include one (1) science subject and any one (1) of Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics.
(xxv) UNN requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
(xxvi) ILORIN requires one (1) of the two (2) other subjects from Accounting, Commerce, Business Methods, Geography, Statistics and Government.
(xxvii) FUNAAB requires O level credit passes in two (2) other relevant subjects from any of Government, Geography, Commerce, Physics, History or Statistics.
(xxviii) NDA requires the two (2) other subjects from Accounting, Commerce, Geography, History, French, Arabic and Government.
(xxix) UMYUK requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) from Commerce, Government, Geography, Accounting/ Book Keeping, Marketing or Insurance at not more than two (2) sittings.
(xxx) FED-LAFIA requires O level credit passes in Government and any of one (1) of Commerce, History, Christian Religious Studies or Islamic Studies as the two (2) other subjects.
(xxxi) AAUA requires Five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) of Government, Geography, Accounting, Commerce and History.
(xxxii) CHRISTOPHER accepts O level credit passes in any two (2) subjects as the fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) subjects.
(xxxiii) BELLS requires five (5) O level credits at one (1) or two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects.
(xxxiv) FED-DUTSINMA requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Arts, Social Science and Science subjects.
(xxxv) PAN-ATLANTIC requires five (5) O level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics/ Economics/ Accounting/ Commerce and other relevant subjects.
(xxxvi) COAL-CITY requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) of Arts or Social Sciences subjects.
(xxxvii) NDA requires the two (2) O level credit passes in Arts and Social Science subjects from Accounts, Commerce, Government, Civic Education, Geography and History.

UTME SUBJECTS:
(i) ABU accepts Arabic
(ii) PHC and ILORIN require Economics, Mathematics either Government or Geography or History.
(iii) OAU requires English Language, Mathematics, Economics and Geography or Government.
(iv) IBADAN - Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects
(v) OOU -Mathematics and any one (1) of Economics, Geography, Government, History and Literature in English
(vi) ABU, JOS, MAIDUGURI, PHC, EKSU and ESUTECH - Mathematics is not compulsory
(vii) IMSU - same as Marketing
(viii) ILORIN requires one (1) subject from Accounting, Commerce, Business Method, Geography Government and Statistics.
(ix) AAU and BAYERO require any Social Science subject as the third (3rd) subject.
(x) DELSU requires Social Science subject as the fourth (4th) subject.
(xi) EBSU and BENIN requires Mathematics, Economics and any other subject.
(xii) BINGHAM also requires Geography and Accounting.
(xiii) CUAB and AAUA require Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject
(xiv) SALEM and EKSU require Mathematics, Economics and one (1) other Social Science subject. SALEM for Criminology requires Government and any two (2) of Economics, Geography and Literature in English.
