DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT
Two (2) A level passes including Government or History.

SSCE (O'LEVEL) RESULTS EEQUIEMENTS
Five (5) SSC credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three (3) other subjects. A pass in Mathematics is required.
JAMB UTME SUBJECT COMBINATION
Government or History plus two (2) other Social Science/Arts subjects.

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS TO NOTE FOR SOCIOLOGY ADMISSION

DIRECT ENTRY:
(i) CALABAR requires three (3) A level passes in Government and any one (1) of Economics, Mathematics and Geography. History not acceptable in lieu of Government but accepts IJMB.
(ii) ILORIN and DELSU accept A level passes in Government, and any Social Science subject.
(iii) OAU requires:
a. ND/HND upper credit in Public Administration and Local Government Studies
b. A level passes in Government and any two (2) from Economics, Geography, Christian Religious Studies, Mathematics, History.
(iv) IBADAN accepts any two (2) A level passes.
(v) BINGHAM accepts ND in Public Administration at merit level.
(vi) AAU requires A level passes in Government and one (1) Social Science subject.
(vii) UNIZIK requires similar requirements as for Economics for both Direct Entry: and UTME applicants. But a pass in O level Mathematics is acceptable. Accepts any two (2) A level passes.
(viii) LAGOS requires:
a. very good passes in three (3) JUPEB/A level subjects: Government, and any two (2) of Literature in English, Economics, History, and Christian Religious Studies /Islamic Studies.
b. UTME requirements:
(ix) COVENANT accepts ND upper credit Public Administration plus the UTME requirements.
(x) AAUA accepts two (2) A level passes in Government and any one of History, Economics, Business Methods and Geography or own Diploma or ND upper credit in Public Administration Or Local Government or HND lower credit in Public Administration or Local Government.
(xi) COOU accepts ND/HND lower credit or NCE in any related Social/Management Science.
(xii) GSU accepts NCE in relevant subjects.
(xiii) JOS in addition to the A level passes required, credit passes at the ordinary level must include English Language, Government or History.
(xiv) EBSU accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of merit and upper credit respectively in relevant programmes/subjects.
(xv) UNN accepts ND in Public Administration at merit level plus the UTME requirements.
(xvi) BIU requires in addition to the UTME requirements specified, a minimum of two (2) relevant subjects passed at the A level or NCE three (3) merits or ND in relevant programme not below credit pass.
(xvii) ABU accepts three (3) A level/IJMB passes from any of the following subjects: Government, History, Sociology, Economics, Geography.
(xviii) AAU accepts two (2) A level passes from Mathematics, Economics, Geography and Government or History.
(xix) LASU accepts First Degree in cognate or related programme with a minimum of second class lower division.
(xx) DELSU accepts ND upper credit from a recognised Polytechnic or degree in Arts, Social Science or Law at least Third Class Honours.
(xxi) KWASU accepts two (2) A level passes in Government and any one (1) of History. Economics, Business Methods and Geography or ND upper credit in Public Administration Or Local Government or HND lower credit in Public Administration or Local Government.
(xxii) GOUU requires three (3) A level passes in Government and any one of Economics, Mathematics and Geography. IJMB
(xxiii) RENAISSANCE accepts passes in A level or its equivalent in Government and History or ND.
(xxiv) NDU accepts:
a. two (2) A level passes in Government and any one of the following: Economics, History or Geography.
b. NCE credit in Political Science and in combination or Local Government Administration with credit passes.
(xxv) SOUTHWESTERN accepts IJMB/NCE/ND/HND or its equivalents.
(xxvi) BOWEN requires two (2) A level passes in Government and any one of Economics, Geography, Mathematics or History.
(xxvii) ODUDUWA accepts NCE with merit passes in relevant subjects.
(xxviii) FED-DUTSINMA requires two (2) A level passes in Political Science/Government/History and any relevant Social Science or Arts subject or Diploma in Personnel or Administration with lower credit.
(xxix) PLASU accepts: degree in any programme provided the candidate meets UTME requirements, HND minimum of lower credit in relevant programme, with UTME requirements, ND minimum of lower credit in relevant programme, with UTME requirements, IJMB minimum of seven (7) points with passes in relevant subjects, plus UTME requirements, PLASU does not accept university diplomas and other diplomas not accredited by the relevant accrediting bodies.

SSCE RESULTS
(i) ABUAD, GOUU, OOU, DELSU, CALABAR, OAU, LASU, and EKSU require O level credit pass in Mathematics. EKSU also requires another Social Science subject apart from Government.
(ii) OAU and CALABAR require five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government and any two (2) from Economics, Geography, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, History, Civic Education, Yoruba, ICT/Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Agricultural Science.
(iii) IBADAN requires five (5) O level credit passes in Government/History, English Language and three (3) other subjects with at least O level pass in Mathematics.
(iv) CALABAR requires two (2) Social Science subjects including Government. Does not accept History in lieu of Government.
(v) DELSU and UNN require O level credit pass in Government and any 2 other subjects with at least O level pass in Mathematics. Does not accept History in lieu of Government.
(vi) EBSU requires O level credit pass in Mathematics and two (2) other subjects.
(vii) AAUA accepts ND in related programme at upper Credit level.
(viii) BIU requires O level credit pass in Mathematics.
(ix) JABU accepts a pass in Mathematics.
(x) COVENANT same as Marketing.
(xi) ABU requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government or History, and any other two (2) Social Science or Arts Subjects.
(xii) KASU requires O level credit pass in Mathematics.
(xiii) ABSU requires Five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Government or History and any three (3) subjects from Arts, Social Science subjects and at least O level pass in Mathematics
(xiv) REDEEMERS requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government or History and two (2) other subjects.
(xv) KWASU accepts five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History and two (2) other Social Science subjects or one (1) Arts and one (1) Social Science subject.
(xvi) LAGOS requires five (5) O level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Government, Economics/ Geography and any one (1) of History, Literature in English and Christian Religious Studies /Islamic Studies.
(xvii) UMYUK requires five (5) O level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government or History or Civic Education and O level credit pass in any two (2) of Arts/Social Science subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
(xviii) KSU accepts O level credit pass in Mathematics.
(xix) FED-LAFIA Same as in Sociology.
(xx) BOWEN requires five (5) O level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Government and one social science subject.
(xxi) ESUTECH requires five (5) O level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Government and two (2) social science subjects.
(xxii) EDWIN CLARK requires five (5) O level credit passes to include English Language, Economics, Government and any other two (2) subjects with at least O level pass in Mathematics.
(xxiii) AAUA requires five (5) O level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Government/History one subject from the Social Science and any other subject.
(xxiv) FED-DUTSINMA requires five (5) O level credit passes in Government, or History/Civic Education, English Language, Mathematics and two (2) other subjects.

UTME SUBJECTS:
(i) LASU requires Mathematics.
(ii) ILORIN - Government or History and any two (2) of Economics, Geography, Literature in English, and Mathematics
(iii) IBADAN - three (3) subjects in Arts, Science Social Sciences
(iv) AAU - Government and Mathematics are mandatory
(v) LAGOS requires Government and any two (2) subjects from Economics, Geography, History, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies /Islamic Studies and Mathematics.
(vi) DELSU requires Government, one Social Science subject and any other subject.
(vii) EBSU requires Government and any two (2) Social Science subjects.
(viii) AAUA requires Government or History, Economics and any other subject.
(ix) ABU requires Government or History, and any two (2) of Economics, Geography, Civic Education, Islamic Studies, Christian Religious Studies.
(x) ABUAD and KWASU require Government and any two (2) Social Science or one (1) Arts subjects including Mathematics.
(xi) FED-LAFIA Same as in Sociology.
(xii) OAU accepts, Government and any two (2) from Economics, Geography, Literature, Christian Religious Studies / Islamic Studies, Mathematics.
(xiii) BOWEN requires Mathematics, Government and any other Social Science subject.
(xiv) BAYERO requires Government or History and two (2) other Social Science subjects.
(xv) KSU requires Government or History and two (2) Commercial, Social Science or Arts subjects.
(xvi) FED-DUTSINMA requires Government or History plus two (2) other Social Science/Arts subjects.
