They're eager to learn the step-by-step process of creating a blog. Given that I've mentioned several times on this blog that I often use for my less technical blogs, I typically recommend this platform to beginners.

Step 1: Sign In or Create a Google Account

If you already have a Google account, you can skip this step. Otherwise, head over to the Google Account creation page to create one. Google account is compulsory for anybody who intends to use Blogger. After signing in with your Google account, go to

Step 2: Create Your Blog

Click on the "Create a blog" button on the Blogger dashboard. You'll be prompted to provide some basic information:

  1. Title: Choose a catchy name for your blog.
  2. Address: This will be your blog's URL. You can use a subdomain of or set up a custom domain later.
  3. Theme: Pick a template that suits your style. Don't worry; you can always change it later.

Once done, you've got your blog alive. Isn't so simple? Now, let's explore further.

Step 3: Write Your First Post

Click on "Create a new post" to start crafting your first blog post. The built-in editor allows you to format text, add images, and insert links effortlessly.

Once your post is ready, hit the "Publish" button to make it live on your blog for the world to see.

Blogging Beyond Your First Post

With the three steps above, you are good to continually publish more posts. You may need to keep on with writing and more content creation. Blogging is as simple as that.

However, if you intend to take it to a serious level, there is more to bring in.

Step 4: Customize Your Blog

Even though, you can leave this part to a later time, writing matters more than designing at the early stage of your blogging adventure. 

When you're ready, make your blog unique by customizing its appearance and layout. You can:

  1. Adjust the layout, including the header, sidebar, and footer.
  2. Change the theme or customize the current one to match your preferences.
  3. Fine-tune settings like privacy, comments, and more in the "Settings" section.

Step 5: Explore Your Blog

Click "View Blog" from the Blogger dashboard to see how your blog looks to your readers.

Step 6: Add More Content

Keep your blog engaging by regularly adding new posts and pages. You can create more content by clicking on "Create a new post" or "Pages" in the Blogger dashboard.

Step 7: Promote Your Blog

Share your blog posts on social media, connect with other bloggers in your niche, and actively engage with your readers to grow your audience.

Step 8: Monetize Your Blog (Optional)

If you want to generate income from your blog, consider options like Google AdSense or affiliate marketing. You can set up these monetization methods in the "Earnings" section of your Blogger dashboard.
